:rant; Since levemir is a long-acting insulin it is stated in the warnings that people with kidney problems should 'inform' their doctor. The diabetes doctor told my mother yesterday that she should not be on it because it doesn't filter through the kidney efficiently. I just want to know, and the next time we go for an appointment will ask, why the neph didn't catch this. I mean I try to look out for my mom but I am not that knowledgable or thorough.

It is frustrating. We spend too much time going over things the specialist should catch. Some days we are just one in a long line of patients, but I want to be treated like I am his only patient that day. Your Mom has really had a bad time. I hope things get better. Take Kitkatz big stick wehn you go to the next appointment. :Kit n Stik;
