Man says he's eaten 23,000 Big Macs since 1972

Tue Sep 9, 3:24 PM ET

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - A 54-year-old man says his obsessive-compulsive disorder drove him to eat 23,000 Big Macs in 36 years. Fifty-four-year-old Don Gorske says he hit the milestone last month, continuing a pleasurable obsession that began May 17, 1972 when he got his first car.

Gorske has kept every burger receipt in a box. He says he was always fascinated with numbers, and watching McDonald's track its number of customers motivated him to track his own consumption.

The only day he skipped a Big Mac was the day his mother died, to respect her request.

The correctional-institution employee says he doesn't care when people call his Big Mac obsession crazy. He says he's in love with the burgers, which are the highlights of his days.

Does anyone else remember Wimpy from the old Popeye cartoons? He was the one with the hamburger fetish. That's who this guy reminds me of.

Every now and then I really crave a Big Mac. If my numbers are good, I do indulge.

Hey Flip, I remember Wimpy's famous quote "I would gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today".

He says he's in love with the burgers, which are the highlights of his days.  Oh man, and I thought my life was boring!

that hamburger eating man was just on the channel 11 news
he is not fat
he is very tall
and he has his hair in a very long pony tail with long bangs
he is not good looking
but he does look rather strange
talks normally
said his wife says when she has to put the burgers in the blender----IT IS OVER
he also stated he has the COD

What a great achievement.
I wonder what are some of his other stats:

How many pounds of poop?
How many gallons of pee?
How many cubic feet of gas?

Maybe he should run for VP.

Yuck McDonald's.  I did eat a few ( very few) big mac's in my university years.  Spent the night on the toilet after I ate them so I do not eat anything at McDonalds anymore!!!  Even when we take the kids on school trips and go to McDonald's I do not eat!!  I know I will be sick before I get home and a school bus without a bathroom is not a place to eat something that is going to make you sick!!!
