How very exciting and how wonderful to know that Dustin is still giving.  All the best to Benjamin and his new lung.

My friend has a son named Nikko who is 10 years old. He has cystic fibrosis and I pray he lives long enough to get a lung transplant. I know Dustin's donation has made a HUGE change in Benjamin's life Lori. Thank you for sharing the story with us.

Wow that is wonderful.. and so quick to hear from a recipient.. it must make you proud of Dustin's choice and his gift in helping others.

I have often thought that I, too, would like to write a letter to a donor family to express my apprieciation and how much their loved one's gift will have changed my life (obviously this is a thought for the future). When thinking about it though I know I would want to wait at least 6 months... first of all for the transplant to settle and to know it is working pretty well, and also to give the grieving family a bit of time. I am not sure how the system works down here in terms of you ever being actually able to do it, or if the powers that be will pass letters on etc (I am sure they would) but I know it is something I very much want to do if I'm able... to tell a family that the gift has meant so much and means a massive change in my life.. I am sure it would mean a lot to them - as Benjamin's letter and wish to meet means to you - I am sure seeing him breathing easy and *living* with dustin's gift will mean so much to you.

Very pleased to read this!

I am so glad to hear that someone is already contacting you.  The Lord always works it out for the good of everyone.  You are a brave lady and I admire you so much.

Love to you and the family,

That's great, Lori. I've seen several donor families who totally resented the recipients because they felt like they had taken something from them. Your attitude is awesome.

That is outstanding news Lori. That has to make the loss of your son much more managable to see the transformation in Benjamin's life.
