The bad luck continues

I don't know when this will end! I was out riding my scooter today, and an ambulance with lights and siren going came up behind me. We were on a narrow two lane road with no shoulder. I was moving over to let the ambulance by, and I hit a patch of loose gravel doing about 35 to 40 mph and went over the handlebars. I hit the pavement face first and on both hands and slid another 10 or 15 feet according to the paramedics behind me. They immediately turned around, called dispatch to send another unit for their original call, and picked me up. Fortunately I was wearing a full face helmet, but I still had some pain in my neck. That turned out to be nothing fortunately, but I do have a broken wrist. Among other things, I'm unable to dialyze myself, so I have to go into the centre until this heals. I'm having a very hard time typing right now, so I'll give more details later.

Adam, I'm so sorry about the accident! I hope this is the end of your bad luck for a long, long time! My friend calls this kind of run of bad luck a sh*t storm. It seems like an appropriate term.

Photos of the damage. The bike faired pretty well-just some scratches on the mirror. Over all I think I came out of it pretty well considering what could have happened. On the helmet pic, along with the scratches, the face shield is also broken.
