New Guys Dad

You met my son Reid several days ago, I'm Fred, his dad and his donor( I've told my freinds I found a new dite program: LOSE WEIGHT BY REMOVING BODY PARTS)
I have learned something during the last 8 months:
I HATE DIALYSIS TOO!!!
I've watched the results of dialysis: the cramps, the restless legs, the itching, the times he sleeps for hours, and the times he can't sleep at all. I admire all our your courage as you endure this.
I have found our local dialysis center to be very inflexible for scheduling treatments and showing very little compassion For the patients. These four hour treatments are your life, something you must endure to survive, yet the overall patient care from what I have seen treats you like a car rolling down the assembly line. I think they're a business that needs to be fixed
God Bless all of you.

Welcome to our community! I just love it when family members join IHD!! I shows a great deal of love and concern. And here we have another family for you - the IHD family!
This is a wonderful site, with information, support, even fun. So hang around, go to the Off-Topic section where there is lots of craziness, then the Caregivers section where you can link with other family members who are here because of their loved ones. Just take advantage of all this site has to offer. And, oh yes, post often!

I also enjoy hearing from family members. It's great you joined us and that you care so deeply for your son and what he is/has going/gone through. He's very lucky to have a Father like you.

Welcome! And my hat off for you, sir, every living donor deserves the utmost respect.
I don't agree what you're saying - ' I think they're a business that needs to be fixed ' - : healthcare should never become 'business' because imo when you start looking for profits and start cutting costs, you actually are cutting in people's health.
