My parents are leaving this morning for the trip to Canada. I am gonna be by myself for 10 days. I have been home alone before I just hate it lol. I always hear weird noises that I never hear before, and my mind plays tricks on me.  I will probably be on here a lot more than usual!

aww don't be too lonely Karen... think of the freedom you have to do things on your own... laze around... walk around naked if you like (just be careful with the curtians in the front window... ;) spend all day in your pj's etc... hehehe woohoo...

and we'll be here to keep you company so don't worry... be happy!!! :)

Wow.  A few days alone sounds like heaven to me.  I'd be making sure all my sleep pants were ready for putting on as soon as I came home from work.  I would also make sure I had my own favorite treats as dinners - pasta salad w/feta cheese and veggies every night!  I might even eat a scoop of ice cream before eating the salad!!  Or better yet - I'd make some brownines and there would actually be some left on day 2.  I would plan on at  least 1 hour of blasting music and dancing my heart out in my living room.   During TV time, I'd watch Bravo and TLC without having to hear someone else whine about it.  I'd rent a few chick flicks, the ones I can't watch without hearing my husband and son groan throughout.  I'd watch 'When Harry met Sally' and 'You've got mail' as many times as I wanted!  I would go in the backyard and read a book without hearing "Mom...." or "Honey...." a hundred times.  I might even go over to my sister's and swim/sunbathe all day.

But then, on day 3... I'd miss them all and I'd start hearing those noises.

03/2007 Fantastic Eye Surgeon in ND got my sight back and implanted lenses in both eyes, great distance & low reading.
Gortex 4/07.  Started dialysis in ND 5/4/2007
Gortex clotted off Thanksgiving Week of 2007, was unclotted and promptly clotted off 1/2 hour later so Permacath Rt chest.
3/2008 move to NC to be close to children.
2 Step fistula, 05/08-elevated 06/08, using mid August.
Aug 5, 08, trained NxStage and Home on 9/3/2008.
Fistulagram 09/2008. In hospital 10/30/08, Bowel Obstruction.
Back to RAI-Latrobe In Center. No home hemo at this time.

My husband is leaving Sunday for a business trip, so I'll be there in spirit...however, my 9 year old son is still here, so no walking around naked or watching chick flicks without the accompanying groans. Enjoy it for me!!!

Well I ordered my Chinese and now have leftovers for a couple days at least. I am in my parents room on my laptop and in there big comfy bed! I am just going to relax this weekend, mayeb go to the bookstore and pick up a new book.

Ohhhhh, I'm forbidden to go to bookstores as I usually try to buy one of each..........they love me and I can't afford it...I would love to go, and I'm kicking myself tonight..the kids asked me to go to the beach with them this weekend and during my migraine I said no...well, now it's gone and so are they.........grrrrr.

Well be fair.. I also suggested spending all day in her PJ's.... :)

And Joe Paul... I coudln't possibly fly in for a girl's night at Karen's - that would make it not a girl's night!!!!

Home haemo 1980-1985 (self-cannulated with 15 gauge sharps)
Cadaveric transplant 1985
New upper-arm fistula April 2008
Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008
Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008
(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges
