My scooter crapped out, but there's a happy ending
«

The last few months I've been having problem after problem with my little motor scooter that I was so excited to get. The engine won't run smoothly, it has a fuel leak in the carburetor, and recently part of the frame that supports the seat broke at a weld. So, it's pretty much ready for the junk pile now, after having it less than a year! I had mentioned my problems to some of my friends at church, and some of them were there when my throttle stuck wide open when I was trying to start the thing in the church parking lot. I almost had a runaway scooter heading straight for the glass doors of the church! I managed to grab the handlebars and kind of flipped it over to stop it from moving, then I was able to kill the engine and unstick the throttle. If it had gotten away from me, I would have been putting A LOT of money in the offering plate
Anyhoo, word spread, and my pastor and his son picked me up, and WE WENT SCOOTER SHOPPING! The church had come together and raised enough money to get me a brand new scooter. It just blew my mind, especially when my pastor handed a check for $1000 dollars to the dealer. It just goes to show that there are still a lot of very kind, loving and caring people in this world. My new ride is currently sitting at the front of the sanctuary at church, and the "formal presentation" will be done tomorrow at service. I rode it a little bit today, and it rides like a Cadillac compared to my old turd-mobile. Here is a picture of the model that I have, even though mine is gloss black and silver. I'll try to get some pics of my actual scooter later.

What a nice group you've got at church! Prayer is great but making the extra effort to help someone out is a big deal. Bless them!

Great that people helped you out in your situation.
Guess it would have been bad to ask for a kidney also

Here are the pics of my actual scooter. I rode it a little more today, and at one point I actually hit 50mph. It was so smooth, it felt like I was standing still (except for the wind hitting me and whistling through my helmet). It's also nice to have enough speed and acceleration to keep up with cars, and be able to change lanes when I need to. I love it!

I love it and know you look cool and hot riding it
&
my son had a basketball coach in high school, he came to see Bubba baptized twice-- the first time he came was the wrong date-- He came my aunt's funeral, she was like a grandmother to my children------ a very nice man
he has been down on his luck and called us today as we were returning from college station
he needed my husband to meet him at Walmart to fill his gas tank
he did not have the money or gas to get to work tomorrow
we were glad to help even though money is tight
Bubba's rent is killing us..
but, we needed to help him so we did
that is what makes this a good place to be

Do they call them mopeds still thses day's?
Nice bike, atleast if the frame cracks on this one, at least there is a warranty (I hope)
Can it really reach 80 mph? Never been on one and just can't imagine it going that fast.

They are sometimes still called mopeds, even though most do not have pedals. As for the speed, the primary measurement is in km/h, it has the mph in smaller numbers under the primary gauge. The mph only goes a little over 50mph.
