Check it out here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dialysis#External_links

Maybe this will increase the site traffic and maybe increase awareness of what we go through, therefore leading to more transplants for those of us who can get them, and better long-term dialysis for those who cannot.

I hope they don't erase it. In 2006 and 2007 I added IHD on wikipedia under dialysis, renal failure and nephrology, but each time they called it spam and removed it while chastising me for posting it. I argued that it was a help forum for patients, with support and info unavailable anywhere else, but they weren't interested.

Here's the message they sent me:
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. The external link I added still remains on their listing for Hemodialysis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemodialysis: Online Community for Dialysis Patients by Dialysis Patients

Way to go.  Every time I check in I notice the counter going higher and higher.  Part of me thinks that's a good thing that people are finding us, and part of me wishes the counter would stop and there would never be any more kidney failure in the world.

I just checked the link to see if it was still there 24 hours later (it is), but further down the list was this link as well "Virtual CKD patient/care giver community - by far the largest CKD discussion forum on the web", and I wondered about the last part and clicked the link...it's us!! We're there twice!  :2thumbsup;
