Well I would be against any sale of any organ. It just doesn't seem right especially after reading here about a city in Thialand or the Philippines. However, I would like to read the article. This idea has been brought up before by some docs about having this done.

Against.  How much $$$ you have should not be a determining factor in who gets an organ.  It should be based on time on the list and medical need.

Now if you wanted to give some sort of major tax break to someone that donates...that would be doable.

If I am understanding this article correctly what the doctor is saying is... it shouldnt or wouldnt be up to the patient to pay for a kidney donation but either insurance companies or the goverment.

I would like to see more of his proposal ideas on regulation. On long term health care for a donor, I do not see a recipients insurance company willing to do that. Right now, I can not give a positive answer without more knowledge of the doctors proposal.

I think offering money might bring out some people that are not going to think the whole thing through.

it is just something else I could not afford
the Donald's and the stupid skinny rich girls could get all the kidneys
they could blink,blink them and wear them on jewelry
or maybe a reality show
eliminate patients one week at a time

When you think of the time off from a job that a donor has to take without pay for the surgery and to recuperate, the possible travel expenses, and other incurred expenses for the donor I don't think this is such a bad idea. Plus if they receive medical care afterwards -- it's better than what the donors are getting now. This may allow more people who were thinking of donating, but were worried about finances, making the decision for donation. Of course, like Chris I'd like to see how the process would be regulated and see details first. They'd have to have something in place that didn't allow the rich to just go out and buy their own kidney.

Ooooh.  I like that idea.  Jeff Probst could come up with a 'The Tribe has Spoken" type of line (The blood has clotted, the fistula has been infiltrated) and then unplug your dialysis machine.

I vote to eliminate:
Paris Hilton, any of the Spears family nit witts, Jessica Simpson and her weird butt father, and any other celeb that is plastered in the news to much. Ahhh screw it, just kidnap their ass with no cell phones, pda's, or any other electronic device and drop their ass on a desserted island and leave them there. :rofl; :rofl;
