JAWS and JAWS2 have been on all week on TNT or TBS or AMC, some upper channel around here.  Cool shark week is coming.

My favorite line was "we are going to need a bigger boat!"

shark week is real not fake Hollywood crap
about the shark attacks on men in the water in WWII
and along the Jersey Coast
I do not watch the fake movies

well, a funny thing
I went late to dialysis friday
I was flipping the stations
and I went--OHHHH!!
it starlted me
the shark jumps at the boat
and the captain says
that part about needing a bigger boat
I made a couple of techs jump

What does "chumming" mean? ???  To me a 'chum' is a friend.

Chumming is when bits and pieces of meat and blood are thrown into the ocean to attract the sharks to come closer to the boat.

Exactly who wants sharks to come near their boat?   Are you shark fishers?

Australian surfer says he was towed by shark

By ROD McGUIRK, Associated Press Writer Mon Sep 8, 8:40 PM ET

CANBERRA, Australia - A large shark entangled itself in a surfer's leg rope in Australia and began towing him and his board out to sea, the surfer said Tuesday.

John Morgan, a 51-year-old surf shop owner from the east coast tourist town of Byron Bay, compared his terrifying 170-foot ride off a local beach to being towed by a jet ski.

He said he was about 330 yards from shore and paddling out when the 10-foot shark swelled up from underneath him Sunday afternoon.

"It freaked me out," Morgan said. "It bumped my leg rope and next thing it tangled itself in the leg rope and started charging out to sea with me in tow."

"To say it was like being towed by a jet ski might be an exaggeration, but it was really fast," he added.

Morgan said he clung to the board until the shark suddenly freed itself and disappeared. The rope was not damaged and remained attached to the board and his ankle.

Morgan said he was not sure what kind of shark it was.

"He was probably as freaked out as I was," Morgan said.

Sharks are frightening. I won't ever wish one on you.
Last summer my  two kids, husband, and I were snorkeling off Key Largo in Florida and I had a huge brown "nurse" shark swim right under me. It was way bigger than I and could have had me if he wanted because it came from behind. I was teriffied. I tried to show him to my husband but he just swam off and never came back. I still finished my snorkeling, though. I thought if he really wanted a piece of me, he would have done it.
