Asking about the next poem
Can be dangerous in your home.
You might be reading some posts
And then whammo some crazy host
Goes and writes a tome.
Is it so hard to write?
Not when you feel so right.

sleep sleep
always tired
but sleep I can't keep
The Sandman I must fire.

I am awake
at 3am
My dreams I can't make
The hours I must cram.

Why can't I sleep?
I miss good sleep so I weep.
I daydream of good health
and a good job that brings me wealth.

One day I will be normal
and my bladder will be full
I will have pizza
with lots of mozzarella

I won't feel faint
My blood won't be of taint
and I will have energy
to run and catch a Frisbee!

Be able to walk
in the kidney walk
and feel proud
of all accomplishments all around

Maybe one day
we can say
a transplant is a cure
I am sure

but for now
this is how
we live to say
live day by day

Agreed, that is very well said there Angie.  A poem doesn't have to rhyme, it just has to come from the heart.

Too tired to sleep
Over my head
and in way to deep.
I try to slumber in my bed.

I awake with the itchies
To tired to really scratch
It makes me get the bitchies
I wonder if it's chicken pox I catch.

No, it is not the chicken pox
So I wander the house
Checking the locks
Tip toeing quiet as a mouse.

I do not want to wake
The sleeping one.
Two Benadryl I will take
Then hopefully off to sleep I will run.

Sleep, sleep blessed sleep!
I settle back into my bed.
I count millions of sheep.
I see them all in my head.

Soon I am asleep.

I hate dialysis and I'm just the wife,

It sneaks up on you and takes over life!

Now "Boris" he has come to stay,

And Baxter feeds him everyday!  ;)

Eeny,meeney, miney moe
Where in the access will the needles go?

I went to dialysis the other day
And wouldn't you know it I lost my way!

The tech came out
I started to pout.

I guess in the long run
I just wanted to have some fun!

I guess in the long run
I just wanted to have some fun!
The fistula rolled left
The fistula rolled right

Come on you can stick it
Don't let it win the fight!

Never thought I would win
but now it is finally in

Then my BP drops
I just want to plop

Lay me back so I can faint
Looks like my face is white paint.

Turn off my UF, take me off
When it alarms please don't scoff!

Let me go home to bed
Hurry up. go ahead!

Can't wait til I get a kidney
Then will my machine miss me? :P

A look into the mind of a 16 yr old.
About to start dialysis.
This is how I saw my family....my LIFE.

 COURAGEOUS

I'm courageous you must believe

through thick in thin I stick it out.

The doctors say you'll tough it out

be strong be willing be a man.

My mother says, "oh he's not ready

dint put pressure on him already".

My dad is a jerk through it all

doesn't give a damn if I fall.

My sister Michelle says like this

he can't have mine or have this.

My sister Sheila doesn't know

what to say or for me to know.

I can say I am not ready

To say the doctors are all ready.

I wrote some dialysis haiku a few months ago while on the machine:

dialysis chair
sitting here watching my blood
i need a kidney

drinking dark soda
is something i cannot do
i don't pee it out

oh to pee again
to take lots of potty breaks
sweet release of pee

it ain't shakespeare but..... ;D

IHD

Who do you know
That cheers at the sight
Of a bag full of yellow
And a smile so bright?

Where do you go
When you need help and hugs
Overwhelmed by the challenge
Of dialysis and drugs?

How long do you stay
At the keyboard to see
The friends and the topics
Or is it just me?
