I wish we could have made it there this year. Jenna is registered but we just couldn't get it together with also going to Colorado and Chicago - hopefully next time!

Wish they would have it closer, within a days driving distance. As long as I can make it home while the sun is still up I could do it. But there are no plans to bring it to the surrounding area I was told last year.

I think so too. The Kidney Foundation hopes to raise awareness for organ donation. There needs to be awareness of kidney disease and the importance of detection and treatment.

I had thought about organizing some dialysis activities such as golf and bowling (or other sports). They would probably need to be on a regional basis due to limited travel for many patients. I'm gonna run it by my local NKF chapter and see what they think. Surely some of the major dialysis companies would pitch in with sponsorship.

I know our region has many golf fund raisers. I think it is a great idea to approach them.

Our does too but they are for regular golfers who have formed their own team. I'd like to see a tournament restricted to dialysis patients. I think it would open a lot of eyes about life on dialysis.

Yay Angela, so glad you are going! If you can get me a program, I would appreciate it. Jenna and I are registered and wish we could pick it up ourselves, but too much going on for us to go. There's a tribute to Patrice in the program. Thanks, don't worry if you can't get it.

Maybe next year, some of us could go as the cheering section.  I want to meet Romona!!  And Angela!!   If I visited my sister in New Concord, Ohio I it wouldn't too far.  Hmmm, I will really think about that.

Have a marvelous time--take lots of pictures.   And show everyone what you can do with a transplant! :yahoo; :clap;

If they had a hiking competition my husband would do this!  He is not a team sports kind of guy.  It sure sounds like fun though.  And I would like to meet Angela and Romona too!

I got here (Pittsburgh) today around 3-3:30pm. That was a LONG 18 hr ride. I don't know if Romona is bowling in the doubles event or just the singles, so I will definately meet her Tuesday for the singles bowling either way. I look forward to it!  :clap;

Everyone is so nice here and treat you as if they have known you forever. It's wonderful. It's really nice to meet so many people who have got the gift of life as well, and who also know what your going through prior to transplant and post-transplant. So many things to do and go, it's crazy! I wish I would of had someone to come with me, next time I will, but I am still having a blast and everyone is making me feel welcome and part of the team.

After my clinic appointment Thursday, I was listening to the radio, and one of the ladies on the morning radio show said that she was headed out to the Transplant Games this weekend. This is the #1 top 40 station in Atlanta, and one of the top 3 morning shows in the area  :2thumbsup;

I did a little research and found out that she received a kidney from her cousin in 2002. She's running the 100 meter for Team Georgia.

So far, I have not found out what or where this program is, but I will keep hunting. I meet Romona tomorrow at bowling, we have talked on the phone a couple times and she sounds like a sweetheart! :)

I will make sure we get pictures!
