I've been exposed to mono. I have 25% kidney function left. Should I be worried? I'm vacationing with family and I tried blowing on a saxaphone after my nephew did. All the sax did was squeak for me, but two days later, my nephew was diagnosed with mono.

when I taught junior high and some of my students came down with mono I had to take pills
but when my son got it, my doc said not to worry
go figure,,,, I'd call my doc to make sure
mono can be hell to get rid of
and you get so tired
kidney patients do not need to be more tired

Thanks for the link to the other thread! I did a web search and I think I won't catch it. From what I've been reading, most adults already carry the virus for the Epstein Barr virus (the virus that causes mono). Almost everyone ends up with the virus during childhood, but most people don't get symptoms from it. I had mono as a child, so I should be immune to mono again.
