Admin for IHateDialysis 2008 - 2014, retired.
Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.
She did PD Sept. 2013 - July 2017
Found a swap living donor using social media, friends, family.
New kidney in a paired donation swap July 26, 2017.

Difficult times with a femoral line and catching MSSA (Thank you Plymouth Hospital)
Back on HD (not easy to do that third time around)

We had Italian meats (prosciutto and salami) a blue cheese and some local cheddar with mustard, broccoli and asparagus stems with lemon vinaigrette, a couple of semi-dried tomatoes, ciabatta bread and a glass of wine

We enjoyed a very cosy evening, especially after "my" center phoned me for an earlier session
and since we were ready to travel straight away, it created an opportunity to finish much earlier...
... That was very much appreciated and we could enjoy an harmonious Valentines-evening...  :waving;

Are you in Addenbrookes hospital being treated or is your D-centre in Addenbrookes?
(I "only" know of Addenbrookes in the context of rare diseases i.e. Lupus/MCTD etc.)

Hi Kristina
I am in Addenbrookes because my fistula stopped working and I have had an op to place a graft (a sort of plastic tube) in it!
It is not a common op and only a 50% success rate which is why I had to come to specialised surgeons here.
My own dialysis centre is 85 miles away.
I have a temporary line in my groin for immediate dialysis and they dont let you home with them.
Fingers crossed the graft works and Drew is able to be taught to use it at home.

I do hope, the surgeon operated the graft successfully into your fistula so that it can be used again ...
(sounds like a very complicated operation to achieve this ...)
... I also hope very much that you belong to the 50% success rate of this operation...
and I keep my fingers crossed that the graft works well for you and Drew can assist you with home-dialysis soon ...
