Day 6...Fever again. I called the advice nurse on Saturday and they had me go to the Urgent Care. When I got there they informed me that they do not do any blood work. So that was useless. My neph usually comes in on Mondays but did not today for some reason. I will call my neph and PCP tomorrow. I feel horrible.
10 nights with a fever and counting. Wicked headaches, and I have not been able to keep my dinner down. The PCP told me that my white count was actually low and that I am anemic (big surprise). The head nurse at D said that the prelim readings on my cultures were negative. She suggested that I go to the ER. I said that I did not want to be admitted. She said that was the point. I think that they would not do anything until Monday and I do not want to spend Father's Day in the hospital.
Uncle. Yesterday afternoon I am referred by the nurse to head back to the ER. As I am driving there the left side of my face goes numb as do my left arm and leg. Guess what? That gets you to the front of the line. It is a TIA: a temporary stroke. I get admitted and finally get out today. All is well except my smile is a little crooked still. The doctors think it is all related to the fever thing and to follow up with the specialist. Should I just make a reservation at the hospital for next weekend? lol
Today the feeling was worse with breakfast and dinner. I only had fruit for lunch and had no problem then till I had a snack a few hours later of just cheese. I wish they would trust me and allow me to eat like I do at home.
