Okarol & YLGuy: I am soo jealous! Even though it is too "warm" here for snow, it's still only been in the upper 30's to low 40's! Too cold for me!

I bought pizza dough and toppings so we each could make our own pizzas. Scrabble with all 3 of my kids.  Martinelli's sparkling cider at mid-night with the popping party favors and a movie.  Great New Years Eve!

Made the traditional "Hoppin' John" for dinner today. Planned on making it yesterday but we ended up going out with some friends after Church. When we got home, neither one of us felt like eating much. The leftovers are going with Jim tomorrow for lunch.

My Grandmother used to make it every New Year's Day. It's basically Hamburger, Black Eye Peas, Onion, Garlic, Tomato, and Chili's and Jalapeno's. My Grandmother would tell us that for every Black eye pea that we ate, we'd have a day of good luck in the New Year. She never believed that I only wanted 1 day of good luck!    :rofl;    I always thought my Grandmother had named it because my Grandfather's name was John and he always kind of "hopped" when he ate spicy food! LOL!    :rofl;   It wasn't until a few years ago that I discovered that t has been called that for a long time!

Whats new.....   Well   transplant is living life well..... and when I went to the store today  I see that they have alot of the gardening stuff out......  That put a smile on my face..... I am ready......    I cant decide if I am going to garden this year or not......   not having to stay home because   I am free from Dialysis..... I am thinking about just going camping all summer......  yes   all summer and fall.....  what would that be like..... I can run the business from my computer anywhere   and so  I can see my self sitting on a lake in the middle of the woods   thinking that I need to turn on the computer and do business.........

LOL       Life is good    and   I am enjoying and feeling  really    really     good........

    on another note....... I still read stories here and still have alot of thoughts about dialysis..... and the problems people are having...... I Do know what they are goiing thru......once you have experienced dialysis   you do understand......    I wish everyone  to make each day something positive...... it hard at times......  and its so easy to say when you feel good ..........    And   I feel great...........LOL

Tyefly, it's nice to know you haven't forgotten us!

Going camping all summer long gets my vote.  The garden will still be there when you've returned.

How wonderful it must be to have the hell of dialysis behind you!  I wish you all the best in this new life of yours.

Tyefly... As much as I love my herb garden, I would vote for camping all Summer long! And as far into the Autumn as I could, too. Go for it! Just keep us updated (and maybe a bit jealous!) on how you are doing.   :beer1;

Found out early Monday that I was accepted by one of the guide dog facilities I applied to. It is my number 2 choice of the 4 I applied to, so that is good. I should be hearing back from my number  choice in a couple weeks. I just couldn't show much excitement over the phone because they woke me up and that I am sick. So if I do not hear back from my number  choice or that they can't get me in till fall I will be flying out to New York July 2 to the 26 or 28 of that month.
