I win tonight cos I am an idiot!  Paul is off at stock car races, and Molly is at a cousins and I am all alone.  I have been out to a party though.  Anyway, I don't know whether it was because I got my own bags up and was out of sinc or what, but I connected the set on the machine without closing the clamps, then attached the bags and forgot the extraneal one all together!  How bizarre is that!  I do this every night!!!! Luckily the machine just beeped at me during the priming and I fixed both things ha ha.

Beep, Beep! We are all idiots. Or is that: we are all insane???

Only Dan could answer a question like that!  :rofl; :rofl;

On to the weekend.  :clap;

As I said to Carl yesterday...
We have the whole weekend stretching before us...
Well we have the whole Saturday stretching before us (Sunday is completely booked)
Well, we have bits and pieces of Saturday stretching before us. (Grocery shopping, laundry and dialysis)

Just another hamster on the dialysis W.O.F.

« Reply #22152 on: February 06, 2010, 10:23:36 AM »

    Good afternoon (or whatever it is where you are)  :waving;

    If it's Saturrday., you know I'm coming to you during another exciting ADVENTURE IN DIALYSIS (just imagine that had a professional announcer using an echo  :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;).  Yup here again, and I'm ging to keep coming back too.. :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;  Where all the tyoing is one handed and brought to you full of errors for yor amusment.  :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;

   Aleta our weekends are like that too. Use to I never really concerned myself with weekends. I'd work them most of the time.  But now things are different.  I try to do things on weekends, when we're both available, and am up in the day time going places and doing things.  My God look what dialysis has done to me....It's plain awful.   :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;   No seriously, we plan things around those parts of Saturday and Sunday that are "free'.  Seems like there is always more that needs to be done than either time or chances to enjoy the weekend.

    Looks like my wife will not be joining us, and I'm not going to ask her anymore.  Enough said about that subject.  ::)

   Rainy day, damp and cold. At lest it isn't snow like the places North me are getting.  And if you happen to live in those places  :( for you.

Rob, I'm sure glad I don't live near D.C. anymore!  :rofl; :rofl;

It's been spitting snow here. But won't amount to anything. But it sent all those crazy Tennesseans out to the grocery store for milk and bread!  :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;

Made it hard for us "regular" shoppers!  :banghead;

I just have NOT been able to get myself motivated to do all the BORING work I have on my plate for today. I can't imagine why.... :waiting;

Well, Aleta, that little bit of snow around DC turned out to be a whole lot more!  My daughter said that she got 2 feet in the Harrisburg, PA area.  Yep, I like winter in Atlanta, lots of rain, but no shovels necessary.   :rofl;  :rofl;

We got most of our chores done so I'm relaxing!  I will be making Irish potato leek soup later.  I tasted it last week and it was delicious!  I hope I can make it as well as the soup I tasted.   :2thumbsup;

What's past is prologue

« Reply #22163 on: February 06, 2010, 04:43:59 PM »

 :birthday; to Paul!

Today has been a really off day for me. I've been feeling nauseous and mentally cloudy and the kidney really hurts. I'm scheduled to have my tunneled line put in a week from Monday, and I may ask the transplant surgeon if I can start dialysis early. He'll probably say 'ask your nephrologist' and I'll have to nod and pretend like I actually have one. Can a GP prescribe dialysis?

Thinking about all of this, the timing is eerie. I was moved to the hospital where I had my transplant in February of '76, and started dialysis shortly after they placed a shunt. I had my transplant in March. It's happening all over again....

Yup .....  sprain my arm   or tore a muscle   not sure which  but it sure hurts....   but I did get it into the back of the truck   and  now  I am going to have to suffer a week or so untill it heals.....  I am glad  its my left arm   ( the fistula arm )  and not my right or I would not be able to do any thing.........  I cant even hold a cup of water with it......   bad choices......
  Anyway....... I am sure everyones elses weekend is going better than mine..... :stressed;

Tye...that's a bummer.  Hope your fistula is ok.  I know how we superwomen are, just think we can do it all!  I sure hope the rest of the weekend is good for you.

We are gonna get hit with another 6 to 12 inches of snow starting Monday...which is the day I am taking hubby to have his chest catheter put in at a hospital 100 miles from home.  With any luck, we'll get there before it starts and I'll be driving home in it.  He says he may cancel the appointment but we'll see.

Stay safe everyone...and.....I'm winning!
