Canada Day is Tuesday and the base commander gave the whole base Monday off as a thank you for our hard work and to be able to really enjoy our nations birthday, he also stood down the base at 11:30 this morning since it is the friday before a really long weekend now and people will be travelling. I just happen to have been on lock-up duty for my building and have to stay until 4:30 to secure the building and since i'm still on duty over the weekend I have to be in early monday morning to open the building since a few people might be working.
It sucks but this is why they pay me the big bucks and i will be compensated with time off later; it just isn't the same as having a 4 day weekend on Canada Day
