Thank you, Des.  I can't say how special each of you are to me.  Having friends around the world that give you support and love is just so amazing.   

Marc, How exciting that your parents are visiting. I bet the kids are going to be happy to see them.  Will your Dad go to football practice with you?  Have a fun visit.     :2thumbsup;

Admin for IHateDialysis 2008 - 2014, retired.
Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.
She did PD Sept. 2013 - July 2017
Found a swap living donor using social media, friends, family.
New kidney in a paired donation swap July 26, 2017.

I am home from a four day stay in the hospital as of Tuesday. Been back to the classroom the last two days to get it together.  Thank God for friends who helped me!

How is everyone doing tonight?      I was at 2 doctors today for my huge knee.  It started hurting and swelling Monday. Today I can't bend it or put weight on it.  Rhuematologist wanted to pull fluid off the knee and send it to the lab. She pulled the syringe and got blood instead.  The look on her face was priceless.  She sent me to the Ortho guy for xrays and another opinion.  Xrays showed what I knew -- I have crappy joints, full of spurs, floating pieces of bone and nothing else.  He has no idea why my knee and now leg is swollen with blood.  Maybe the rough spots cut a capillary?  Was he asking me? ?  I came away with a cortisone shot and vicotin.  But, I would rather have an answer and a plan.  I am calling my Rhuemy tomorrow.  I shouldn't feel like this and my leg shouldn't look like this.    :thumbdown;

Other than that --- I am great!!    How about you???

Well, I am sore in my shoulder.  Tylenol with codeine has been my friend for several weeks now at various intervals.  My chest hurts on the right side where they drilled another catheter into me.  Oh well.  It could be worse.  I am on Zivox as an antibiotic.  1300 dollars worth of pills, Insurance paid it with a ten dollar copay.  Kaiser wanted a 375 copay. I about sh** my pants when they said 375. Holy cow! How do people on fixed income afford meds that expensive?  Lucky I have insurance with another plan, too with the district I work for.

Otherwise, my classroom is ready to go thanks to my daughter, Danielle, and my dear friend Marilyn coming to do the heavy lifting and bulletin boards for me. I was a sidewalk supervisor for two days while they grunted and did the work!  Otherwise nothing would have been done. As sore as I am I would have just stood there in the classroom by myself and cried. I am grateful to have people who care about me surrounding me in my life right now as crazy as it all is.  :2thumbsup;  :cuddle;

Kit, life has not been easy for you lately.  It is nice to hear how much people have helped you.  Are you ready to go back to school?  Sometimes the pain killers are our best friend.    Take care and take it easy.

Happy Anniversary to our incredible site.   I also, am so grateful to Epoman.  I came to this site scared and feeling very alone.  Now, I feel loved and have lifelong friends who understand me.    Epoman inspired me to reach out and to try to make a difference.   We owe it to him to keep this site alive, active and always here for the next scared, lonely person.     :cuddle;

Greetings everyone  :waving;

 I know, I know, I don't come here that often (well post that is) as I use to but I really like IHD.  I have met many wodnerful people who I've come to know and have learned many things from about ESRD.  This is a great site and it has been not help to me but to many others.  I'm glad Epoman started it and just sorry he's not around to know just how much help he has been to so many people who never met him, like me.   :birthday;   IHD!

I had to go to a Pop Warner conference meeting this morning.  If I did not go the team would be fined $100 and the Head Coach would be suspended for the first game.  I awoke to a flat tire.  AAA came out w/in 15 minutes and were great! Made the meeting, which was 40 minutes away. (I have done this for 8 years now and could probably run this meeting)

I have been letting you all win for awhile.  Wasn't that kind of me?     :sarcasm;      My knee is giving me fits and I have not been on here quite as much as usual.  Pain killers and just plain pain are keeping me down and out.   

How is everyone doing?  Summer is almost over!  How did that happen?   Have you entered the 5th year anniversary contests??  At least enter the drawing.  You don't want to miss out on all the fun (and there are prizes!).
