What's past is prologue

« Reply #23500 on: July 23, 2010, 04:04:54 PM »

Hi everyone!

My younger son apparently only shouted at some teachers today (and I say 'only' because this is improvement from yesterday). I am waiting for Gwyn to return with him to make sure nothing too major happened between when I rang two hours ago and now. When I was there yesterday, telling the teacher that I just did not know what to do, another mom pulled me aside and said she was having the same type of problems with her daughter and suggested the neuropsychology department at children's hospital. Gwyn mentioned this to Liot's teacher this morning, and she said "Oh, no. The difference between Elliot and this little girl is night and day. She behaves that way every day, day after day, Elliot just has these flares once in a while." So now I am confused. This has been such an emotionally draining week.

The storms here were baaaaad, and they are headed east, so look out, Northeasterners. One suburb of ours is trying to get itself declared a disaster area, but I think the city had it rougher. Disaster area might be pushing it. We didn't even lose power here.

Glad you're feeling better, Marc. Stay cool, everyone (except Galvo, too easy for him!)

Yes, feeling better but last night was ridiculous.  My 2 youngest were at their mom's for the night and not due home until 6 tonight.  I went to bed early with a good night's sleep in mind as my oldest did not have class today and dialysis was not until 9.  At midnight I awoke to some serious heartburn and was able to get back to sleep sometime after 1.  At 4 I think a coyote attacked a skunk right outside my bedroom window.  The smell was unbelievable.  The whole house stunk! It still smells a little.  Back to sleep at about 5:30 finally.  My internal clock wakes me up at 6:30 even though my alarm was set for 8.  Too much!  :rofl;

Minus 4(c), again, last night. Days are creeping up to 14. Quite pleasant, if the sun is shining. I'm OK, thanks, paris. My missing haemoglobins are still that - missing. Another 2 blood transfusions last week. I saw the gut guy and he is arranging to have a look down one end and up the other. Will be fascinating.

Drove and picked up my oldest to and from his first concert last night.  20 miles each way.  Just before I got home my truck turned 200,000 miles.

Lila, the sweet little old lady who sat across from me at dialysis passed away.  Very sad news.  She always had a big smile and a wave for me when I sat down for my treatment. I will surely miss her.

This is very sad Marc.  I am sorry.

I did get the blue fleece today though, so step one is done.  Be patient Marc ---- it is coming, I promise!!   My daughter has surgery Monday and I will be helping her, but that will also give me good sewing time while she is sleeping.     So, you know there is something to look forward to.   :thumbup;

Thank you so much.  No rush.  I am sure I will be on dialysis for some time to come.  Please keep us posted on your daughter.  Good thoughts and prayers for your family.
Today is 8/1.  First day of official Pop Warner Football practice.  It was really hot and for some reason we had high humidity which is not normal.  Luckily the rest of the week the boys start practice at 7:15 pm.

I hate winter - I have the most dreadfull flu and everytime I cough I think I am breaking a rib or  getting a hernia or something.

But I love winning too.

I'm sitting in the waiting room waiting for Melissa to be through with surgery.  Last thing she did was to make sure Zeke had all his stuff ready for his first practice with Pop Warner tonight.  And Paxton's things for PW cheer.   Like Marc, it all beings now. Every night--they work these kids pretty hard. When a Mom is down and out for at least three weeks, it stresses her to rely on everyone to get the kids to practices, etc.  Luckily there are a lot of us to help.

And also for Marc --- I picked a warm shade of blue. (not baby blue nor navy)  Hope you'll like it.

Des, I am sorry you are feeling bad.  Having the flu is no fun.  Hope each day gets better.

I don't need to win today, just need to talk for a moment.     I am at my daughters helping with kids and house while she starts her recovery. This morning my son called and his daughter, Eliza (10) is in the hospital with stomach pains. They think it is her appendix and are doing an ultrasound to figure things out.   What a week.  I am pretty tired but need to keep getting through the week.  I am pushing through fatigue and pain to try to be the person I have always been -- the one who takes care of everyone.  I want to be the person I use to be.

Enough of that----I need to cook some meals for my daughter and family, pick up kids from school @ 2 and then maybe head to the hospital to see Eliza, especially if she is having surgery.

Now, who's turn is it to win today?     :2thumbsup;

Thanks for giving me a safe place to let my thoughts flow.   Eliza hasn't had surgery.  Not sure why she has so much pain. They couldn't get a good image of the appendix.  Luckily, her Mom is a nurse, so they are keeping an eye on her for now.    I am still staying at Melissa's. She is doing well -  very tired and drugged out.  But, she said she could rest better if I was just in the house with her.   It is nice to still be needed.   It has been a different, but good birthday. My son in law came home with a really good birthday cake, candles and a wonderful Barnes and Noble gift card.   So, all that matters is everyone is on the mend and I know I am loved.  My cup runneth over.

Jess--------Happy Anniversary!!!!   Now, do we need to talk to Jason about the future?  6 years is a long time to date. What are his intentions?  LOL!!   I am glad you have such a great guy and has proved himself by being by your side during some tough times.  You have one of the good ones.

My life is richer and blessed by having all of you in it.  Thank you for always being a click away.   :grouphug;
