My grandparents on my mother's side lived in the same small town.  My mother was actually born in the house they lived in.  My grandfather was a poor farmer who worked someone else's land.  They had 6 children and when my uncle found a little boy living at the dump, they took him in too.  I saw them every weekend.  If I did not spend the night at their house, Sunday they came to our house.  I loved my grandma & grandpa very much.  I have some time before I am a grandpa.

I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Have been very, very low lately.

I heard from an old IHD friend's wife...open heart surgery Feb 4....almost did not make it. nother friend with breast cancer. Had the rug pulled out from under me several times in one week, and just found I wasn't coping well.

But I *think* I'm coming back up into the light. Still a bit fragile. See...I'm not a wonder woman.  :bow;

Kathy,
Get netti pot and rinse your sinuses twice a day. Keeps the germs OUT! Even helps when you are getting a cold.

Hey y'all!

Checking in from the machine - not dialysis, but the apheresis machine that's collecting my stem cells. I've been on for almost 5 hours, still have over an hour to go. Gwyn's here, having just completed his run. As soon as I'm off, we grab the bags and race back up to Wisconsin. I'll catch up with everyone when I get a chance. Thanks for the well wishes! We are moving forward!!!  :bandance;

Hello All, forgot what I wanted to comment on from Tyefly, Aleta, Cariad, and aris.

Tomorrow is a long day. I have a meeting with Medicaid on why the are screwing me over when I do everything by the book and type my letters so they don't have to quess what someone has written. I have an advocate coming in with me with information at hand. If the caseworker denies appeal and can't show proper paperwork for her decision (we have paperwork that proves her wrong) then we will call dwnstate in her office in front of her. Not gonna be pushed around. She has put this meeting off to long till I complained to downstate. Next in the line of fire is the spend down worker. I haven't had a medical card since November and have been submitting my paperwork  right in their office. I need to get this squared away so I can get surgery squared away without worries.

Good luck with that, Chris!  :boxing;

I just heard that a friend died. Complications from lung surgery. I thought the really pissy stuff was over. Guess again.  :(

Made a card tonight for the friend who will have a long convalescence from heart surgery. Sent a card to my friend with breast cancer this morning.

Time for some good news.

Good morning IHD! It's not a "D" day and I'm wide awake. I guess my body has finally adjusted to getting up so early.Now if only the sun would hurry up and come up I'd be happy. Hope everyone has a good day.

More bad news... a long time friend and colleague died yesterday. The news was hard last night, but harder when I got an e-mail from her husband today. Had to leave the classroom for a few minutes to shed some tears. His eulogy was simply heart-wrenching.

But there is sun today. I hope it fills my soul.
