Hi, everyone.

We have the machine hooked up and running, so I think we will have enough time to get to the clinic for our appointment! Yea!  :yahoo;

Yes, Cherpep, we are training for Pureflow.

For those of you with  ??? ???

This past year we have been using bags of dialysate that are shipped to us. Our clinic did not support using the Pureflow method where you mix your own dialysate. Apparently NxStage is putting pressure on the clinics to do that. Our nurses had their training last week and we are going to be the first NxStage patients in our clinic to make the change-over. Everyone says that Pureflow is faster/easier, but when I talked with a tech at NxStage about 10 days ago, he laughed and said I would be on the phone with them alot once we made the switch!  :thumbdown;

Anyway, the process starts today.  :2thumbsup;

Quick Good Morning, I have to hurry up and get going to make it in time for physical therapy after making a couple quick stops for gas and doctors office.

Good Luck Aeta. I can only comment on the NxStage as how I feel from what you wrote. It sounds odd that they would say Pureflow is faster. If it is already in a bag, no need to mix anything  :urcrazy; ??? Then what the guy said that you will be on the phone a lot after the switch, ught ohhh, that just doesn't sound good or give me confidence yet.

I'll be back much later in the day.

Neuropathy in legs age 10

Eye impairments and blindness in one eye began in 95, major one during visit to the Indy 500 race of that year
   -glaucoma and surgery for that
     -cataract surgery twice on same eye (2000 - 2002). another one growing in good eye
     - vitrectomy in good eye post tx November 2003, totally blind for 4 months due to complications with meds and infection

Diagnosed with ESRD June 29, 1999
1st Dialysis - July 4, 1999
Last Dialysis - December 2, 2000

Kidney and Pancreas Transplant - December 3, 2000

Cataract Surgery on good eye - June 24, 2009
Knee Surgery 2010
2011/2012 in process of getting a guide dog
Guide Dog Training begins July 2, 2012 in NY
Guide Dog by end of July 2012
Next eye surgery late 2012 or 2013 if I feel like it
Home with Guide dog - July 27, 2012
Knee Surgery #2 - Oct 15, 2012
Eye Surgery - Nov 2012
Lifes Adventures -  Priceless

We do have a choice. And personally, I think in the long run it WILL be faster. Plus the wall of boxes full of dialysate will diminish in our garage.

We mix three days of dialysate at a time. As it stands now, we have to lug 20 liters of it in from the garage every day and hang the bags. I CAN do it, but I have to stand on tip-toe and it ain't easy!

My goal is to prove the tech wrong!  :clap;
