I should have asked which OS system you have on your apple. Here is a simple process step by step for OS X, no screen shots though. The ones posted are not clear that I have found.
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://cdn-write.demandstudios.com/upload//7000/600/20/4/67624.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.ehow.com/how_2257393_burn-cd-using-mac-os.html&usg=__SYXbbyW0ERZxKaaU-54hrJCn0gI=&h=478&w=483&sz=21&hl=en&start=2&sig2=hYbZn5hg7ZLnK2zV4AhWJA&um=1&tbnid=uACitFmLg2XBWM:&tbnh=128&tbnw=129&prev=/images%3Fq%3DHow%2Bto%2Bget%2Bto%2BApple%2BOS%2BX%2BFinder%2BFile%2Bto%2Bburn%2BCD%2527s%26hl%3Den%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft
:
!. Prepare the files you want to burn. You don't have to collect them into one folder, but you should make sure you have all the files available before you burn the disk.
2. Insert your blank disk. Apple's Finder will ask you what to do with the disk. Select "Open Finder." The blank disk icon will appear on your desktop.
3. Copy the files to the disk. Double click the disk icon to see the files. The finder will copy aliases of the files to the disk. Make sure the aliases are arranged and named exactly the way you want because you can't change anything after you burn the disk.
4. Name the disk. Double click in the file name on the disk icon. The Finder will highlight the name. You can change the name for each copy of the disk you burn.
5. Burn the disk. Choose "Burn Disk" from the File Menu. The finder will copy the real files to the CD with the any new names you gave the aliases.
OS X disks will open on Macintosh and Windows computers.

To make sure, eject the CD and close all Windows pertaining to that file. Reinsert the CD and open it's folder, then click on the image. To double check it is not the image from your computer, check it's properties to make sure it is from the CD file. Not sure if that is done in OS X like in Windows were we can right click on a file and choose properties to see all the file information.
Hope that all was copied and what you needed.
