I've not been here for a bit. Okarol.. thank you for checking up on me.
So.. where have I been? Work has been rough, son's nite school 4 x's a week plus his regular school, plus his virutal school, plus his scouting (did his eagle project last weekend), Plus his getting his book together on the eagle project. My suddenly becoming the Pres of our Ladies Auxiliary....
Keith will be down May 13th till June 3rd. Right after he will be moving down after he finishes packing.
Son now wants to move in with me/us.
Son and Keith met online on yahoo chat and cam.
Now.. I live presently in a one bedroom apt. which would have been fine but with my boy wanting to move in with us.. I need a bigger place.
The economy is sooooo extremely sucky that jumping from a 1 BR to a 2 BR about made me keel over pricewise. So I'm looking at the next county north of me.
This month and the month of June will be a massive blur. Graduation, son's b-day, his Eagle Ceremony, Keith coming down for a few weeks, I have to find a place to go at the begining of June.. Fly up and drive down with my cowboy and his things.. Move my son in too and then schedule our schedules.
Of course if all that wasnt enough.. I can't have pets here.. so what do I do?
At work (I work at the PO).. they know I'm the animal person..so they call me and tell me that one of the training vehicles have a bunch of kittens in the engine and they are wild and claw at everyone..what can I do?
I roll my eyes.. go out there armed with an emtpy xerox box and leather gloves. When I get there everyone had scattered (go figure!).. I took along one of our mechanics to keep Ma Cat at bay and not rip my face apart (or other delicate needed areas!)..I peek into the engine and there are 5..little bitty maybe 4 week old kittens..the bluish haze still over their eyes. Nasty mean little things too spitting and hissing and those tiny little razor sharp nails.
In we go grabbing them and boxing them quickly.
So.. I drive over to the cat rescue place.. no problem I'm told (they are used to me brining in kittens from work) I cant trap the momma cats in the area cause the workers there will fry me for being cruel! (Cruel is letting them breed like that!)..So as I pick them up and hand them to her..I hold back one.
Two were tiger striped.. two were jet black (and the devil re-incarnate in meaness) and one was middle of the road.. black.. white splash on his nose, tips of his paws and belly. I kept him. I had already spoken to Keith and it was OK to keep the little heathen fur ball.
So I got him home.. bathed him (yes I survived)..and long story short.. he slept in his blankie all nite long till 5AM.. where he decided it was time to MEOW very loudly..I get up.. deal with food and such.. and put him back on the blankie.. up on the sofa.. all curled and nuzzled and cave like..the furball (who is now named Dante)..decides to check out the bowels of the pull out sleeper sofa.. I got him out once...as I write this.. he's back in there!!!!
Now to hide him from the landlord for a month till I find a place and move.
Keith is doing very well, my son is a walking zombie with all he has to do (but fell in love with the furball) and me.. hehehe..
none of this is a rant at all.. nope.. not one moment of it. I'm happier than I have been in a long long time, got my guy moving in with me, my son too that really likes Keith.. a kitten that will make me roll my eyes and laugh.. and a new life ahead full of ups and downs, laughter and tears.. and I would not want it any other way.
Life is good and love shows you the way to do things.
Yep.. I've been smiling for weeks now looking forward to our lives together.
