hello forum, I'm a kidney patient..and have been for about 9 months.
i do home PD dialysis. 4 exchanges 24/7. alto of times i become sad, frustrated, and angry...yet i know i must continue this procedure in order to live....
i have accepted this and now and then i don't feel so depressed. some people are worser off than myself. plus i have a energetic grandson who keeps me happy and busy. however i do have my days in between

Hi Flyinghigh and WELCOME to the best website ever regarding this matter.... I am so happy you found us, i think we are just what you need. We are mostly all patients here with some family and friends and even some dialysis workers here. Epoman (Admin) has thought of it all, and he keeps on surprising us with more stuff all the time. If you ever have any questions, comments or concerns, rants or just wanna let it all out, this is the place to come. Everyone here is so willing and eager to help each other, that is how we learn, from each other. I hope you have been reading some of the many posts (and i hope you post also) and if ever you come across a question, please, just ask, that is what we are here for, YOU and EACH OTHER.....
DAMN, I LOVE THIS PLACE........

Welcome to our website. Here is an entire community who understands exactly what you are going through. However, we do have a few rules to keep our website going nicely. Have a read of the site rules (in General Discussion). They are not to stifle you, but to make sure we have a site that will stand the test of time.
Feel free to rant, to vent, to cuss (using proper language, of course). Share with us your ups and your downs. For me, personally, this site was such an aid to me, since I discovered it just after I was diagnosed and just before I started dialysis. It helped me immensely.
There are now over 7000 posts. Look through them, and don't forget to ask any questions.
Keep posting.
Keep flying high!!

Welcome to IHD! This is the best place out of all I have checked out so far for patients! I am glad you found it here
I am a patient as well
Been on PD before and now am on HD even though I was afraid of it at first. I know PD can be tiresome doing it 4 times a day every single day but think of the bright side: You have a more liberal diet than someone on HD

Greetings, flyinghigh and welcome to this forum! You have found the best site to advise and learn from. I have been on PD for 13 months and it does get easier to cope.
How old is your grandson? You are so fortunate to have him so nearby, mine are 3.5 hours away in Chicago. :(They are coming to visit Granny for a few weeks in August~ Yeah!
Thank goodness for grandkids and this site! Best wishes, Anja

Flyinghigh - on what?
Welcome to the site where you can talk to people who understand.
Who doesn't get depressed about being on a life support system. If you weren't a little depressed sometimes we'd be worried about you. Read through some of the posts on PD and see if that helps you.

Welcome to the site. I think all of us try to stay honest when talking about this disease and dialysis.
