:2thumbsup;  Hi to all  I really don't know how this works so I'll just say I'm a CAPD at home machine free patient and want all to know that CAPD gave me control over the things that heamo threw me into. I pretty much handle all decisions on treatment  on a daily basis and no longer feel "SICK" all the time. I eat, exercise, play as hard as I want and have  a positive outlook and attitude 99% of the time. I would like to chat with other CAPD people who also are positive. Thanks for letting me in! Everyone needs someone sometime!

Howdy and welcome to ihatedialysis.com Jennyjo,

You will find that this forum is open to all ESRD patients and their families, some are not as positive as you but maybe your positive outlook is what some may need. We are here for all members to share stories, provide a place to rant when frustration sets in, and most of all friendship because like you said everyone needs someone sometime.

I'm not on CAPD but I have a very positive attitude like yours. I refuse to let dialysis take over my life and I thoroughly enjoy every day.

That is great, Jenny! Nice to meet you. I use the Baxter HomeChoice machine for CCPD but I too feel pretty great most of the time. =)

I have Alport's Syndrome. My kidneys failed when I was 14 and I was on PD for five years before receiving a kidney transplant from my mother. That kidney failed in 2004 and I've been back on PD ever since. I am undergoing treatment for my high antibodies at Cedars-Sinai medical center. I had a kidney transplant on June 10, 2008. My boyfriend was the donor.
