I have Alport's Syndrome. My kidneys failed when I was 14 and I was on PD for five years before receiving a kidney transplant from my mother. That kidney failed in 2004 and I've been back on PD ever since. I am undergoing treatment for my high antibodies at Cedars-Sinai medical center. I had a kidney transplant on June 10, 2008. My boyfriend was the donor.

I received another email saying Mark  is doing well and he is on a morphine drip for pain. He is in good spirits. I'm thinking of calling him today and maybe going to see him Monday, depending on my work schedule.

I just talked to Boxman but had a lousy connection. he is doing well and the surgeon said everything went better than expected and they did not have to remove as much as they first figured. They already had him standing up and his comment to that was "It was brutal" They plan on moving him Tuesday or Wednesday to Cedar Springs for Re-hab. ( too much contraband huh?)  :rofl;

Hi all,

Mark is doing better today. Less pain and he is now on pain pills every 4 hours instead of IV drip for pain every 10 minutes. He did have a fever of 101 today but they controlled that in a few hours.

He is in good spirits although feisty with the nurses--he keeps them in line! He has caught them screwing up a few times with IV drip (potassium drip when he can not have it) and low blood sugar- did not respond properly.  He was able to get out of bed today and sit in a chair for a few hours.

In hospital probably until Tuesday and will be moved to a rehab care facility were he will spend 4 to 6 weeks.

Thanks Sluffbunny.  If you have the address for the rehab centre please let us know, I'd like to send a card but it takes ages from the UK so would miss Mark in hospital, but if he's there for a few weeks then it should arrive.

Here's a bunny just for you to say thanks for keeping us in touch  :bunny:
