I have Alport's Syndrome. My kidneys failed when I was 14 and I was on PD for five years before receiving a kidney transplant from my mother. That kidney failed in 2004 and I've been back on PD ever since. I am undergoing treatment for my high antibodies at Cedars-Sinai medical center. I had a kidney transplant on June 10, 2008. My boyfriend was the donor.

Update:

Vicky (sister in law) visited Mark from 4 to 6:30 PM. Mark was talking the whole time and was very alert. He is surprised at how he is emotionally handling the whole situation so positively.  He has a good appetite. The pain is so far manageable. It comes in spurts.

The surgeon had said "He could not be happier with how the surgery went, and there were no surprises". "Mark will do great".  He assured Vicky that there was good blood flow. The surgeon took off less than Mark thought he would.

Mark will be in the hospital most likely until Tuesday or Wednesday.
