IHD had well over 2,000 posts last week http://www.billpeckham.com/from_the_sharp_end_of_the/dialysis_ckd_discussion_board_report/index.html

In fact IHD is busier than all other CKD boards combined! I know if Epoman was around he'd be braggin' so I think we can do it for him. It's also looking like IHD will have 2,000 members sometime next month.

Thanks for sharing that with us!  Mixed emotions for me  - proud of IHD, but so sorry Epoman is not here to enjoy what he dedicated his time and effort for!   If he would have been bragging!  Who would have been able to shut him up!!!

I know Epoman is smiling and bragging about what he started to anyone who will listen to him. I bet he is known as that IHD guy!

Thank you to everyone who makes this site possible.

There are many times when I feel down, sometimes in tears... and I log on to IHD and feel better. I know that I am not alone and there are caring people who understand.

Alot has changed since I first started lurking around in here in 2006... many (to many) people have come and gone... I hope from the bottom of my heart that Epoman understands what a gift he gave me in having a place to vent, smile and laugh, a place that every person can relate to what I have to deal with on a day to day basis.

I have no idea what or how I would have coped without this site... and thanks to Bill, I won't need to

Miss you boss

My goodness we're a chatty bunch.
This weeks discussion board report shows IHD had nearly 3,000 posts and nearly 300 new threads!!
http://www.billpeckham.com/from_the_sharp_end_of_the/2008/06/dialysis-ckd--2.html
How many reckon they read all the posts? I can't keep up for sure.

I agree, Bill but I see so many new members who never post. I guess a lot of people are curious but don't want to get involved.

It would be interesting to know more about the members who have rarely if ever posted. I don't think we can know if they visit the board but don't log in or have they forgotten their information. Of course some move on or pass on. Some may see their renal condition improve so that they're not thinking about it and some may simply feel too sick or disheartened to post. Like I said it would be interesting to know more.

In general I see joining as a vote of appreciation so it may be that renal professionals join after reading to try to "understand" us and find that there is a lot of value in reading the posts. They might not think they should post (I dispute that) but join as a way to show their appreciation at being let in on the conversation.

If you've been following the Discussion Board Reports on my blog you've noticed there is another outlier board - the DaVIta Board. They have by far the most members - over 6,000 - but they are also among the least active with just 8 new threads. Not even a thread per a new member. Curious.
