Goofynina and Epoman - Gone But Not Forgotten

WWW
« on: July 05, 2006, 12:30:25 AM »

We now have over 200 members.  I am curious.  How did you come upon this website?  I was running scared after my diagnosis and before dialysis and I was trying to check out everything I could.  I found this message board, and there was this guy with this strange name posting there - Epoman.  He said there was a site with this equally strange name - I hate dialysis. com - and that this was a no-holds-barred site and that there would be frank and open discussion.  I clicked on it, in September 2006, and I am still here ( at 3.24 a.m.)!!

I was looking around dialysis sites through a web search on yahoo and came upon the name of this site. Now anything that said I hate dialysis had to be worth looking at.  This site said exactly what I was feeling at the time and was a place I could finally express how I felt to people who might understand a little bit. So here I am posting yet.

I am a member on a couple other forums.. not dialysis related..
Everyone on the other forums know about my kidney disease but they
don't really understand all the crap associated with it.. and I hate boring people
with my tales of woe..  Soooo, I went searching for some like minded folk and
found Ihatedialysis.com.   (the name kinda "spoke" to me)  said yep, I belong here.. ;) :D 8)

Well, Once upon a time, sitting at my desk, feeling tired, lonely and sorry for myself while surfing through this amazing world wide web of ours  i noticed this tiny little light while i was googling anything on kidney disease.  I tried to ignore the light but no matter which way i turned there it was , so, me, being as nosey as i am decided to investigate what this "tiny little light" was.  As i got closer and closer i felt this sign of peace, as if someone was telling me, "your not alone"  and  "there are people who care"   So, when i came upon this light, i seen all these wonderful beautiful people there, people who are like me, people who know what i am going through, people who are willing to help, people who care,  they asked me my story, i gave them my story and i was greeted with open arms to this AWESOME WEBSITE:  ihatedialysis.com.  And now,  i am living happily ever after.   LOVE TO YOU ALL....

I was hating the fact that I was back on dialysis and how much I hated it.  So, my favorite search engine is dogpile.com and I typed in "People who hate dialysis."  Wallah.....  There was ihatedialysis.com.  WOW this has to be the place for me.

I found out about the site when I saw a copy of lifeonhold's different types of nurses list sitting on my desk.  My boss had been looking around at the website and left it for me because he thought I would get a kick out of it.  Not only was I LMAO, but I was able to go around and find those attributes in the staff at my clinic.  I joined shortly afterwards.

This is a real coincidence, because we just revisited Life on Hold's classic posting.  Goofynina just discovered it a day or so ago.  Life on Hold still rocks!!!

From another kidney site, takes for ever for people to write back if they write at all. Thats why I like this site, cause I can't keep up with it at times, it's faster than me. hehehe :D

Ya that is the sole reason I keep coming back! I like how active this forum is. I have to admit I was a little intimidated at first by Epoman but now that I have been here for a bit (not long, still am relatively new) I think I will stay ;)

You can't let a day pass without checking this forum.  You will find yourself with too many posts to read!!  Sometimes I am reading and thinking that I have all covered, then by the time I am finished, there are already new posts before I even sign off.
Talk about an active site!!
I think Epoman should just write up the thousands on the home page, like 7000+.  He put 7100+ and we are already to 7262 at this posting!! He will be having to change it everyday!!

I have added a new section since many members have been added since July.  Take the poll and then make your comments.  We now have 315 members - our poll should have much more than 20 respondents!
