No, but after the freedom me and my wife were experiencing just after we were married, dialysis was prison. I was just chained to this gurgling machine, and I hated every second of it, and it stole time from me and my wife .. >:(

feel better about everything now though. still hate dialysis ....

I was desperately searching for information regarding ESRD on the internet and got to the Nephrology News website.  I signed up, and read the article about this website.  I came here, and now I don't go anywhere else, it's great!

After I was told I had ESRD, I was scared and wanted to find out more about it all in English.  My doctors were all speaking Portuguese to me, which I also speak, but when it came to something super serious, I wanted it in my native language, English!!!, I first found a site about the book The Lighter Side of Dialysis and linked from there.

Yes, that was one of the biggest flaws with that site brumleys Dialysis Online! (besides the enormous about of spammers) it was very hard to follow. And it was one of the sites that inspired me to create this site.  :thumbup; I wanted a site that was very USER friendly.

Angie told be about it in  D&T City.  She said she normally chats on this site ... but I see she may have lured in me in with a fib . . . I haven't seen anyone chat just yet  ;).  Then again ... I'm cruzing around at wierd times.  The forums are keeping me busy with research right now, which is wonderful .... So thanks Angie!

Also, thanks Epo!  I haven't been on-line with my issue  too much, just kinda kept it to myself, but now I'm slightly addicted to this site.  It's good to know we are not alone.   :thx;

Hey Epoman, wasn't a post made in the calendar to advertise a day to all go into the chatroom?

Okay, I couldn't find one, so I made one (through the calendar) here.

Actually Fox_nc, it was actually Epoman who came to D&T City awhile ago who got me to come here ;) and as you can see by my post count .. ya I DO spend a great deal of time here  :-[ :P lol

I found the Davida site first, but didn't find the kind of open atmosphere I was looking for.  I probably used a search engine (heck, I can't remember), looking for "dialysis forum" or some such.

When I saw this forum listed, I figured I had found what I was looking for.  :)

I linked from the sister site after googling NX stage earlier this evening.  Now I'm surfing thru everything - there's an awful lot of info in a mighty small space here!

I was looking up information on the nxstage machine also. I was happy to be taking a machine home, but its kind of intimidating too. I needed to read some success stories.

Somebody mentioned it on one of my kidney mailing lists. It was solely mentioned, quite sadly, due to the death of Epoman, who I never had the pleasure of knowing.

So I thought I'd take a look at the forum, because I'd been searching for a kidney forum just like this for ages, and hadn't found one. At least none that were active.

I used to visit a web message board, but it usually turned into name calling and swearing.  I was looking for information cause I was just starting dialysis.  I joined up here back wen it was EpoMan, Life on Hold, and only a couple other members.  Its quite impressive where the site is now, and all the help its provided me.
