Graduated in the mid 80's and I love the "hair bands".  I wasn't into bands like Depech Mode (spelling?), Thompson Twins, etc.  In the 80's it was all about the "hair bands" for me!!!

This is a tough call for me, I listen to and like a lot of music from the different eras of rock from the 60's to the mid 90's. Pretty much there is no new rock like there use to be to me. I also like the other 80's music (Depeche Mode, Oingo Boingo, Yellow,Haddaway). I also listen to Hip Hop, and mild rap that is on the hip hop radio station. Loved it when Run DMC and Aerosmith did Walk This Way. Then there's Ted Nugent with Fred Bear.

I was (and am) into what is now called "classic rock" - saw so many bands in concert: Rolling Stones, The Who, Queen, Jefferson Starship, James Taylor, Jackson Brown, Journey, REO Speedwagon, ZZ Top, Heart, AC/DC, J Geils Band, Ted Nugent, Bad Company, Head East, Molly Hatchet, Van Halen, Jethro Tull, Alice Cooper, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger, Blackfoot  (just to name a few!) We always bought concert t-shirts and I still have most of them - someday want to make a wall hanging or something! I also LOVE Led Zeppelin (had tickets to see them in 1980 or 81, but the tour was cancelled when Jon Bonham died  ), Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Lynyrd Skynyrd,  Elton John

Nowadays, I also love Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Nickleback, Alice in Chains, Coldplay, STP, Matchbox 20, Natalie Merchant, and Counting Crows.

A very good list of groups of "classic rock", well maybe James Taylor on a good day only can think of a couple good songs from him.

I was raised by my Grandmother and all she listened to was the Big Bands, I finally convised her that music from the 50's and 60's wasn't so bad. She had a fit when I wanted to watch Elvis on the Ed Sullivan Show. It's funny, because I still like listening to the Big bands music. I know, I'm

"Hair bands" are what they called the rockers with the big, girly hair in the 80's (Bon Jovi, Def Leopard, Poison, etc.)  Lots of hairspray on tour!

I listen to a wide variety of stuff, in many different decades, and for all that goes, many different musical styles. As a matter of fact I have almost 700 CD's. Rock, Blues, Jazz, Zydeco some Country(although not much). If I were to venture a guess, I would have to say that I like Rock and Blues of the late 60's and early 70's (I guess that is a decade LOL!!) In Rock, I like Allman Brothers, Beatles, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Doors, Foghat, Golden Earring, Grateful Dead, Jmi Hendrix, Iron Butterfly, James Gang, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, Mountain, Nazereth, New Rider's Of The Purple Sage, Quicksilver, Rolling Stones, Santana, The Who, Zappa (although some stuff was just a little bit too weird) The Blues-John Baldry, Big Bill Broonzy, Roy Buchanan, Albert Collins, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Dawkins, Danny Gatton, Earl Hooker, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, Albert King, B.B. King, Freddie King, Lightning Hopkins, Lonnie Mack, Little Milton, and Pinetop Perkins. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Understand also, that some of the musicians in the 60's and 70's are interchangeable. In my opinion, you could put Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton in either category. When you get right down to it, what Hendrix did was blues. And I like Eric Clapton much better when he plays the blues. Just my opinion.

In about the mid to late sixties I got particulary hooked on what was then called the American Undergrand. Bands like Moby Grape Buffalow Springfield Jefferson Airplane etc.

But the guy who really bowled me over and nothing in music has had the same impact since was Jimi Hendrix. I also listened to Clapton Gary Moore (Thin Lizzie) Ritchie Blackmore Jimmy Page Peter Green and later in the 80's Stevie Ray Vaughan. Im afraid to-day's guitarists appear less than mediocre by comparison often playing in a very elementary style with very little technique.

Late '60s, '70s. Civil Rights, Civil Unrest, Civil Disobedience. The music transports me right back to the time. "Groovy" was my nickname from that era because I was anything but.

I love old Motown, even predating the late '60s - Smokey, the Temptations, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder (after he grew up), and the legendary Sam Cooke ("We're Having a Party", the original, oh yeah!)

Then there's The Mamas and the Papas (Mama Cass singing "Dream a Little Dream"), Simon and Garfunkel, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens (aka what?), Rod Stewart, and Queen (where did that come from???) especially their "Night at the Opera" album.

I graduated in '88, so I am an 80's girl all the way.  I started getting into Bruce Springsteen in early 80's, influenced by my older brother.  I also love classic rock, REO Speedwagon, Cheap Trick, Boston, Foreigner, Bad Company, etc.. I also love music from the 50's & 60's.  I have the 50's station from XM Radio on my pre-set. 

I also like some of the music today; my new fav is Low by Flo-Rida, probably cuz my son LOVES that song and it's constantly on one of the station's here.
