"Out Body: The Universe Within"

My husband and I went to The Witte Museum here in San Antonio today and saw "Our Body:  The Universe Within".  It was truly amazing!  If anyone has the chance to see this when it's in or near your town/city I highly recommend it.

I've attached a link to show you what it is.  Real bodies!  Real muscles!  Real internal organs!

Now, some of you may have a problem with this exhibit.  As a matter of fact, I suspect some of you will.  But to be able to see internally what only med students, doctors, coroners and scientists have seen is unbelievable!!

This was called "Bodies in Motion" when it came to MOSI in Tampa about a year or so ago. It was fascinating to see everything as it was. Everyone went - Ro and wife, 3 daughters, and me. Everyone had a different reaction. It's not for everyone.

I didn't know it had come to Atlanta, I would have gone to see it.  I look at Trauma ER, Diagnosis X, Impact,
and other med shows on cable.  It fascinates me what they can do now for people in terrible accidents and
those with mysterious illnesses.

OK so they stole it...but did they get it to work again??? That's the question...
I'm not all that scientific, so I was going to begin by microwaving it (like on the popcorn setting)...add a few straws for connectors...then take some extra labs to provide the start up blood. Seems reasonable...right??

It was the kidney portion of the exhibit that I was most interested in (obviously )  It wasn't elaborate or anything, but we paid for the audible tour thingy and just having my husband hear what the kidneys do and such was worth it.  I was able to point out to him the ureters and such, and the reason they prefer the left over the right, etc., etc.  I was also able to show him on the full scale "model" where my new kidney would be placed and why.  I think he came away with a much better understanding of the transplant procedure.  Well worth the money in my opinion.
