I always seem to be going to see bands and get just as excited as a teenager about it - always wanting to post about it, talk about it. I'm sure there are other keen music fans here, too, so I thought I'd start a thread for this.

So who have you seen lately?

My most recent gigs were Iron Maiden (still blown away) and Infectious Grooves (basically a side project of Suicidal Tendencies, for those who don't know). It was the first time I had seen Iron Maiden (I'd been waiting for that since 1985!!) and at least the third time I have seen Infectious Grooves.

I saw Van Halen with Diamond Dave a few weeks ago, that was fun. Before that I saw David Bowie - that was a great show (Jenna loves him too.)

Sounds great okarol!

Here's some pictures from Iron Maiden - couldn't believe the size of Eddie, he must have been about 10 feet tall! There had to be a person inside that outfit, but it seemed like you would need 2 people in there, 1 on top of someone else's shoulders! lol

Here's some pics of us at the Infectious Grooves concert (part of a music festival) last weekend - we all look a bit rough around the edges, lol, so don't go thinking we're a bunch of criminals or anything - we had just been enjoying a drink (or, er, lots of drinks) all day.

I am in the first pic - I'm the one with the long black hair and puffy prednisolone face! My husband is the one in the stupid yellow hat  :rofl; - the others are friends I have met through the internet.

February 2007, just a few months before my transplant - we went to Melbourne to see Testament, a band I've loved for years. Here's some pics from their in-store appearance - I was really disappointed that the photo of me with Chuck and Alex (singer and guitarist) came out so badly  :(

However, I was just glad to even see Chuck - he had a nasty form of cancer, I believe it was somewhere complicated in the chest area. I do not know how much surgery etc he had to endure, but he is evidently well recovered now.

Just went to see Queensryche about a month ago now at the House Of Blues Chicago.  Will be returning to that venue on the first of next month to see Ace Frehley the original guitarist from KISS.

The last concert I went to was Def Leppard & Journey, 2 years ago (I think). Before that it was Duran Duran, 3 years ago. Still waiting for U2 to go on tour again! That is the one thing I want to do before I die--see U2 in concert.  8)

Last concerts - I went on the Rock Boat in January.  :bandance; It is a floating concert.   Sixthman charters a Carnavel Cruise Ship and books about 30 rock/jazz bands.  Sister Hazel is the host band.  Saw Sister Hazel, Josh Kelley, Emerson Hart, Glenn Phillips, Toad the wet sprocket, and a bunch of others that I don't quite remember their name.  Good time had by all.  One of the great parts of doing the cruise is the band members are on the cruise and mingle and eat with us little people.

WooHoo Rock Boat IX is coming next January.  (www.therockboat.com)

Last concert we saw was Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band   AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!  He was AMAZING!  Before that was Billy Joel, also AWESOME!!!!  My favorites though have always been Bruce Springsteen, especially with The E Street Band, saw them many, many times.  A couple of years ago I saw Alanis Morissete and Bare Naked Ladies together, very cool.  Kiss/Aerosmith was awesome and about 10 years ago The Eagles....those have been my favorite.

We are big concert goers, usually about 3-4 a year, but this past year we haven't seen any.  I really wanted to see Bon Jovi, the one group I never got to see in the 80's, Rob has seen them about 5 times.

That tour came to Australia not so long ago, but not to my city unfortunately. It's not often I travel for something - I have only ever travelled for Metallica, Suicidal Tendencies, Testament and Iron Maiden.

Skyedogrocks - I'm a little jealous that you've seen Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.  You've listed some of my all time favorites.  I'm sure that Bon Jovi puts on a good show too.

Lucky you.

I saw the last Dead show in Chicago at Soldiers Field before Jerry passed.  The Dead shows were more of a really big get together with music playing in the background rather than a concert.  Phish shows were similar in nature, but the Dead shows were muuuuuuuuuch better IMO.
