Kidney Awareness Mascot...

The staff and students at Holland College in Canada received a request to build a kidney for the Kidney Foundation, with the idea of creating a mascot to raise awareness for the foundation.
It took about a week to construct the mascot, and then a little more time was spent fine-tuning it to make sure his wiper motor-powered arm was up to the task of waving for prolonged periods of time.
He debuted (with the lobster claw he’s currently sporting) at the Summerside Lobster Carnival parade earlier this month.

The Living Legacy Foundation congratulates Mary Morekas of Ridgely Middle School in Lutherville, Maryland who won the Donate Life Maryland Mascot Contest with her mascot creation, “Sydney the Kidney.”

For college students I guess cracking open an anatomy book wasn't on the list of things to do.    Well the color is what comes out, not what a kidney looks like in color or that's one messed up kidney

The page says, "The Gift of Hope mascot, Morgan D'Organ, is on the road for his annual summer tour. When he's out, people always try to guess what is (he's a liver). What do you think he looks like?"
The answers range from bubble gum to pancreas to whoopie cushion!

DON'T BE DISSIN' MY SCHOOL, MAN!!!  *LOL*

it's a technical school, I guess... they call it a community college.. it combines things like adult education and GED with vocational classes, business, IT.. The Culinary Institute of Canada is a part of it, as is the Prince Edward Island Police Academy.

I see this particular kidney mascot on a regular basis, most recently the first of this month, and yes, he still waves.  *G*  There was talk of a naming contest, but I'm not sure if it ever came about

Not a kidney, but had to post it...

The Ultimate Recycling Challenge in Ontario, Canada featured organ and tissue transplant recipients, donor families and staff on site to answer questions and assist the community with registration. There was also an informational video, a children’s workstation and appearances by mascot Cardiac Carl.

Driving without a seatbelt (or a roof!) obviously distracted - eyes not on the road. Again, I say, are mascots allowed to drive?
