Me with the feather boa Petey sent me at the Toastmaster contest. She caught me with my mouth open, a usual pose for me!

Is it too late to get a boa.  I would love to wear one in honour of Goofy.  I don't have a job to wear it to but I will wear it too dialysis and help spread the word about IHD.

They make me leave the stick in the car at the meetings. Use your words, not your stick Katherine.  Those Toastmasters! I made them write Haiku poems tonight.

Goofynina and Epoman - Gone But Not Forgotten

WWW
« Reply #92 on: April 02, 2008, 04:55:45 PM »

Looking forward to getting my boa.  I have been just enjoying those lovely pictures of people wearing their boas.  Goofynina would have been pleased as punch!  Rose, you look a bit like Archie Bunker's wife in the sitcom (Americans will know whom I mean) and she was a lady with a very lovely spirit, just like you. I was really impressed with your account of you wearing it to work and getting a chance to tell about kidney failure, etc.
All of you look just fabulous - a real tribute to the spirit of Goofynina.  Thank you so much Petey for making this a possibility for so many people.   I just love my IHD family!

I had to look this one up, I only hope I look like her in some earlier episodes as I see the actress who plays/played her is 34 years older than me  :rofl; :rofl;

rookiegirl -- you truly are a beautiful soul.  Glad you like the boa.  Thanks for posting the pic.

Rose -- it definitely is a compliment to say you remind us of Archie Bunker's wife, Edith.  Her tv character was loving, honest, innocent, fun, patient, very wise (though she played a "naive" role), and extremely kind to all.  She had beautiful eyes and a beautiful, warm, happy smile (even though she couldn't sing  :rofl; ).  There is something about her that says "Rose."   The fact that she was much older than you has nothing to do with it.  True beauty (both inner and outer) is ageless.  From what I've read, the lady who played Edith Bunker (Jean Stapleton) was just as loving and kind in real life.
