Thanks everyone. I think the training on using the spray and a self defense class is a great idea.

I never thought of having pepper spray or mace in my house, but it's a good idea, now that the kids are older and won't test it out on the cats or each other. Also, by the time I get my gun out of the lock box and loaded, I'd be at a disadvantage.

I was pinned down and held against my will when I was 19 years old, and it was my supervisor, cornered me in the office after everyone had left. I would of loved to mace him. Somehow I was able to convince him that letting me go was the only way - or the consequences would be hell on earth. I never told anyone, quit my job, and it scared me for quite a while. My next boss was a saint, he renewed my faith in people.

Hopefully Jenna will never have to use it, but you're right, better safe than sorry.

self  defence  training is  the  way  to  go. :thumbup;

Must be an Aussie thing  ;)

I don't think a quick blade or .380 pistol would be suitable for Jenna.

 :bow;  Sluff your scary.... on the outside ... and marshmello on the inside!   :cuddle;

Lets just say I don't travel across the country like last year riding out to Vegas on the bike without some kind of protection.

I carry Brass knuckles and a quick release blade and sometimes a .380 pistol. These appear to be very effective when needed.
Remind me not to piss you off Sluff.

Okarol I have four sisters and I bought them all pepper spray and an extra so we could test how they worked. I also comtemplated buying my oldest sister a taser C2 (consumer version) http://taser.com/products/consumers/Pages/C2.aspx just for kicks because she actually has a glock 17 (she is a peace officer). I think having something is a great idea just make sure she knows how to use it. Didn't we all think we were invincible when we were teenagers

It might hold me back a little but then it would get scary because I would have to pull out the saw.

My friends son is a Marine and he lugs one of those around all day. He had to go on hikes with that strapped to his back during basic. He said it was quite heavy but also very effective...Boxman

I would think the Jenna running around Pasadena with that strapped to her back might cause a scene.
