AREN'T YOU ALL SICK OF THOSE HIGH-PAID TEACHERS??

Their hefty salaries are driving up taxes, and they
only work nine or ten months a year! It's time we put
things in perspective and pay them for what they
do...baby-sit!

We can get that for less than minimum wage. That is
right. I would give them $3.00 dollars an hour and
only the hours they worked, not any of that silly
planning time.

That would be $19.50 a day (7:45 AM to 4:00 PM with
45 min. off for lunch).

Each parent should pay $19.50 a day for these
teachers to baby-sit their children.

Now, how many do they teach in a day... maybe 30?
So that's 19.5 X 30 = $585.00 a day. However,
remember they only work 180 days a year! I am not
going to pay them for any vacations.

Let's see . . .. that's $585 x 180 = $105,300 per
year.

(Hold on! My calculator must need batteries!)

What about those special teachers and the ones with
Master's degrees?
Well, we could pay them minimum wage just to be fair,
round it off to $7.00 an hour.
That would be $7 times 6-1/2 hours times 30 children
times 180 days =$245,700.00 per year.

Wait a minute, there is something wrong here!

There sure is, duh!

Make a teacher smile; send this to someone who
appreciates teachers!

(Average teacher salary $50,000/180 days =
$277per day/30 students =
$9.23/6.5 hours = $1.42 per hour per student.)
Very inexpensive babysitter and they even educate
your kids! Crazy!

Amen, Teacher Kitkatz!

I received this in another email today, and I loved it!
Thanks for sharing it again.

And, by the way, concerning this:

(Average teacher salary $50,000/180 days =

In the state of North Carolina, a teacher with 20 (yes, that's twenty) years of experience makes $42,000 for 180 days of teaching (220 total days of working).  Sometimes, I think I could make more money and have a lot less work and stress if I worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart.  But, then I'd miss my students, so I guess I'll stay where I am.

Teachers teach for the kids---this year has been so hard, giving up my little guys. I miss the classroom, the planning ---- not the parents who all think their children are way above all the other students.

I am sure we all remember our favorite teachers. Mine was Mr.Roberts, Drama and Speech.  He believed in me.

Petey, your students need you---WalMart doesn't! :rofl;

Hey always knew we were underpaid!!!  I teach grade 2 and special needs.  I have a few parents I wouldn't mind sending this to!!!  They seem to think I have it too easy sometimes.  Especially if I come home some afternoons at 3 o'clock.  They don't see me when I go to school sometime during the weekends or after supper!!!  Can we be paid overtime too!! :rofl;

FOUR days of school left!  I have told all of my classes, we will be working until the last day of school. I have planned for it and we will be working.  Bring a pencil every day!  They do not need to know a movie is coming the last two days to go with the book we are reading.  Hehhehehe!

I'm a high school ceramics teacher and I like the idea of getting 20 bucks a day from each parent of each student.  Heck, I'd take $20 a week. :)

Now that I'm older and wiser I think teachers are underpaid for all of the amazing work they do educating and mentoring young minds

Three days left.  I told the kids that we were working until their fingers fell off, then we would pick up the fingers glue them back on, and then work some more!

I miss teaching, too.  Especially the funny things kids say and do.  Like one speech that ended with these immortal words, "We're all different, but thank goodness we're all the same."  And I don't think the student was trying to be profound, just trying to finish the speech without passing out or throwing up.  But I used to tell them that I haven't had a single student die from having to give a speech.  I didn't want to retire early and miss out on seeing kids overcome their fears and find out they can do something they never thought they could.  But mostly I miss the happy hour after the last day of school before summer vacation!

I really enjoy teaching when I have the opportunity to do so, wether it be formal classroom instruction or informal on the job training
