I'm in it for the food and friendship. I don't plan on doing much sight seeing anyway, I hate Chicago...Ha Ha. Really I do.  :shy;

I'm going to switch my reservation to Sleep Inn. I'll just dialyze extra time on Thursday and watch my fluids so I won't need the sauna.

No offense, there are a lot of things I don't like about Chicago either, besides the politics and Chicago/Cook County being the highest tax rate in the country.

Do we need to do a new head count and see how many are coming? I'm hoping it's quite a few. I can make room if anyone from this area needs a ride.

Wish I could be there but we have plans. I've never even been to Chicago.  Hope you all have loads of fun.

Unfortunately I am starting school next Wednesday.  Telling the boss, Oh I gotta got o Chicago for the weekend so I will miss Friday and Monday, just will not work! Especially when Wednesday is the first day kids are back.  I would lose the entire class for the year.  Love you all and best wished.  Maria, my youngest daughter, may show up in my stead.

I was in Chicago two weeks ago and had a GREAT time...and lots of it cost nothing at all. We spent an entire morning at Millenium Park, checking out the big kidney (pictures to follow) and the cool fountain. Navy Pier is great...fireworks on Weds and Saturday nights that I recommend...window shopping on the Miracle Mile, or just hanging out in Wrigleyville on a game night.

I wish I could join you all, but I know you'll have a great time

On a positive note, Rolando and I  :2thumbsup; WILL  :2thumbsup; be there and we CAN'T WAIT!!!

We are now arriving THURSDAY night instead of Friday night (dialysis in Chicago on Fri am and Mon am)

And, looking forward to meeting everyone.

It is highly likely that Rolando's niece and her two small children, and his nephew (from Michigan) will join us for the weekend.

Hasta real soon folks!!!

 :clap;

I thought about dialyzing in Chicago but decided it was too much red tape and paperwork so I'lljust try to drink a little less. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Just talked to the restaurant.  I have told them the number has dropped.  We still can use part of the banquet room.  If there are 25, we will do the family style menu. If less than that, we will order off the menu.  The manager was very accommodating.  Check that off my list of things to do! :rofl;

Next thing on list----- for those who want to or are able to:  after dinner head to Navy Pier, short sightseeing cruise available all evening (30 minutes seeing Chicago from the Lake, about $15 and handicap friendly) and then fireworks every Saturday night at the Pier.    Or, if we are stuffed and can't move, back to hotel to continue the party :bandance;
