How many members have gotten the flu this year?

I don't know if I have it yet, but I feel like crap run over by a truck!  I am taking Tylenol, Benadryl, codeine cough syrup, and an antibiotic to kill what ever has me in its clutches.

Sore throat and a cough.

I felt incredible terrible last Saturday but I don't know if it was the flu or not. I felt like it could have been the flu but no loss of fluids that usually are associated with the flu. Usually I recover quickly when I do get sick, surprising everyone. It could have just been a bad day, not sure but anyway Kit take care of yourself, keep us posted. Love ya Kit.  :grouphug;

No flu in our house, yet (thank goodness), but it's rampant in our part of the country.  Take care of yourself, Kit!

kitkatz  :cuddle; I hope you are feeling better. Our GP's office called us Friday to cancel Len's appointment because the flu is going around and he doesn't want Len exposed to it. We both have gotten the flu shot and have been told it doesn't seem to help with the strain that is going around. Isn't that just lovely? Take Care of yourself and get plenty of rest.

Ramona, I know all about those inner ear problems. Hope it gets better soon.  :cuddle;

This is the first year that I have had a flu shot, they gave it to us during a dialysis session.  I must say that I wasn't to fussy about getting it (thinking it would make me sick)  but I have had a very uneventful winter so far

How are you doing Kit?  Rest, drink fluids--you know the routine.   The flu is really bad in our area. Several family members have had it; high fevers that come on suddenly. upper respiratory infections, lots of fun. But, they have all stayed away, so I won't be exposed.    Take care, KitKatz :grouphug;

I blame the other patient sitting by me in dialysis. He had a raging flu last week.  This morning temperature of 101, coughing hacking, I sound like my cat trying to take care of a hairball.  The only reason I am up is I had the dry heaves and had tog et out of bed.  Oh the fun is just starting.  I took the day off from work. I figured with a temp it was a good idea.

The dialysis clinic gave my flu shot during my training.  We have several people in the office who came to work for at least 1-2 days and was out for the rest of the week because of the flu.  One of them sits across from my cubicle.  She came in yesterday, still coughing hard and none stop.

Can I still catch it regardless of the flu shot?  ??? I noticed for the last 2-3 days I've had a headache, mild sore throat and sneezing here and there.  I don't have a fever though.  I keep my hands washed and sanitize as much as possible.  But if it's airborne, there is not much I can do.  Unless I go to work wearing a mask.

None here so far, but I've been staying out of public as much as possible, too...

Yes, you can still catch it regardless of the flu shot, because the shot can only protect against certain strains, and they're saying that the strain going around this year is not one that was included in the shot. This is exactly why I'm not returning to work until mid-April...taking as much time as my surgeon recommends. Be very careful, everyone!!!

Kit, you feeling any better?

Yup, I got it. Started yesterday. Sore throat, runny nose, endless sneezing, coughing.  Every muscle and bone in my body that didn't already ache, it aches now. Seems like since I had West Nile Virus last summer I get everthing that comes along. Didn't help that both Jai and Lauralie were sick when they were here. I pretty much knew I was doomed. It sucks!
