Okay, I spoke with my coordinator this morning. She, as well as the doctors on the "committee", were very shocked and disappointed. She said that ALL of his other tests and labs were extremely normal.
"He is very healthy otherwise". But, they have to follow their protocol or guidelines or rules or
WHATEVER. I know the rules are in place to benefit myself and my donor alike.
My other brother will contact her this afternoon to hopefully schedule his bloodwork. That is if they let him due to his smoking. I think he's a couple packs a
week smoker and not a couple packs a
day. I don't know. I hope that counts for something.
He had a complete physical in 2007, including chest x-ray , labs, etc. that was completely normal (except a slightly high cholesterol). Hopefully, they'll go ahead and test him and then we can wait for transplant if needed.
Thanks everyone for your kind words and wisdom! I honestly don't know where I'd be if I didn't have this website!
