My husband is so excited. Our son gave him tickets to Sundays games at the RBC Center in Raleigh. So much for my lovely family Easter dinner - but who could pass up going to the games? I know they will have a great time. Dad use to coach son's basketball team years ago, so it is still a great bond between them. Thankfully, we are a big family, so there will still be 12 of us for dinner!!

Wow, Duke needs to step up their game after tonight. Won by 1 point! Hope they play better on Saturday. Not necessarily for them--just like our hometown teams.

My son called at noon; he was headed to the RBC Center for the round of games today. Raleigh is full of fans this weekend. It is fun to be around all the action. Bolta72, you are doing good! Hope the rest are in your favor

Marvin says he would like to see Clemson win it all, but he doubts they will. He said UNC will probably win it, and that doesn't make him happy (BIG NC State fan). He has been watching game after game after game. I like college basketball, but not like Marvin does. Today, he watched Davidson (NC school) win and Western Kentucky (lower seeded team -- I pulled for them because I always pull for the "underdog"). Now, he's watching UNC beat the snot out of Mount St. Mary's.

Rose and Sir Ken -- It's America's college basketball championship games for "Division I" men's teams. (Division I means the college must have an enrollment of -- Marvin think it's -- 1,500 students). The tournament starts out with 65 teams from all over the US. They play the beginning rounds at eight different sites in the country. When a team loses a game, they are eliminated and their basketball season is over for the year. After today (Sunday), we'll be in the "Sweet Sixteen" (meaning the number of teams left in is now at just 16). Those 16 teams will play next week-end at four different sites in the country; there will be two rounds next week-end. So, after next week-end, there will only be four teams left vying for the championship. The "Final Four" games will be held in San Antonio, TX, the following week-end. The winning team gets a big trophy and "bragging rights" for an entire year. It's a big thing over here with sports fans -- and especially with Marvin (who loves sports of any kind and watches every game no matter who's playing). Marvin is now pulling for Davidson; at the current time, they do have the longest winning streak in men's college basketball. (But, he said that will probably end at about 5 EST p.m. today.) In all reality, as much as Marvin hates to say it, the UNC Tar Heels will probably win the NCAA championship (Marvin is a big NC State fan). Marvin said if the underclassmen on the Tar Heel squad come back next year (instead of going pro), UNC should win it two years in a row.
Marvin said you could find more info on NCAA basketball on ncaa.com or cbssports.com
Can you tell that Marvin's as hooked on sports as I am on IHD?

Thank you Petey and Marvin, I was feeling quite left out, I understand it a lot more now, thanks for taking the time to give us all that info. Hope Davidson make it to the sweet 16. (I still love this bunny I hope he won't go when Easter ends!)

Davidson was definitely an underdog in this tournament...and they won this afternoon! They're in the Sweet Sixteen.

Box -- I just asked Marvin if he knew anything about Wisconsin that I could tease you about, and he said, "Yeah! They're damn good!" That may not be a positive thought for Davidson, but Marvin said he's still pulling for those Wild Cats!

My husband and son said the games they saw Sunday were great. They loved the Davidson game. said it was well played and exciting. Most feel that UNC will take it all. My son went to Friday, Saturday and Sundays games. They both had a fun weekend. UNC is my transplant center--so kind of feel loyalty to them!
