Hi Everyone - my name is Jenn, I am 25 and live in Maine. I am not on dialysis, and not really even close to it yet, but have been recently diagnosed with Stage 2 CKD. My Mom (who is also on this site, SandyB) recently was on dialysis, had a kidney transplant, and raves about this site so I've been lurking for awhile. I have a kidney biopsy scheduled for next Wednesday (they are fairly certain this is hereditary, but they were unable to gain any information from my Mom's biopsy). That's my story for now - but I wanted to say I am sorry for the loss of one of your (our!) members. My Mom was really sad to hear of it, and it reminds me of how amazing friendships can form through a screen  :) That's all from me.... (for now!) Have a good day, everyone!  ;musicalnote; ;musicalnote; ;musicalnote;

Welcome to our community librajen,

I hope you stay stage II for a long time. At any rate I  appreciate you taking an interest in ihatedialysis.com. There is lots of information at your finger tips. I hate the biopsy on the native kidneys, I experienced pain during mine but don't want to scare you because others have had it done with no pain. Please let us know how things turn out.

Welcome, Jenn!!! I so hope you have no pain during the biopsy! Ick. I was lucky, I never had one.

I also hope you stay in stage 2 for a long time!  I was fairly successful, for a few years, in holding
off on dialysis. I'm now on the cycler (pd), which I really like, much more so than hemo!

Jenn -   :welcomesign; Welcome to the board.  I'll be by your side for the biopsy and I too hope that you stay in Stage II for the next 30 to 50 years.

Love you

Welcome to the IHD.com family.  I hope you biopsy turns out all right. Your Mom should be a great help to you as you begin your kidney disease journey.

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.
