Electricity went out for a while but other then boredom, everything is good. I heard a lot of the dialysis units here had to close because their electricity was out for hours and patients had to hand crank their blood.

I use to live in Sacramento and have been in touch with friends they said driving around town was a nightmare on Friday there was semis blown over on the causeway with 80 mph winds and getting over the hill was impossible as they shut down I-80 at Applegate to Reno 80 miles away. 9 feet of snow was the expected total...Boxman

It's been raining on and off for days, and today all afternoon/evening and so far *crosses fingers and toes* our 22 year old roof hasn't leaked yet (it's supposed to last 20, I have been saving up to redo it.)  :-\

Too bad you don't live near me, I could do your roof. Maybe the storm will blow it off and you get a new one for free. Your luck they will prorate it. ;)

Friday was really wild here, south of SF.  The bark blew off all our trees, they look naked now.  The winds were clocked at 80 mph on the bay and over 100 mph in the hills.

Thankfully, we've only lost power a couple times and for less than a minute each time.  The dog is having a tough time with the thunder claps though.

The storms made my work this last weekend very difficult .  Even though I live in VA I work for
a trucking company that is nation wide .  I handle the area west of Texas and Kansas ,
I had 4 trucks during the weekend that went over on their sides or ended up in ditches .
The goodness there were no injuries , Just damages equipment .

Out here in VA , On my way to work on Friday it was 17 degrees , On my lunch break on<Monday it was
74 degrees .

On Friday, a 60 ft Monterey Pine fell on our roof while we were away at lunch time. We also loss electricity from 9 am till 1 am. There were no lights in my neighborhood for miles and miles and we used the fireplace for heat and candles for light till we went to bed.  My friend still has no electricity and wont get it back till this Friday. My house is fine but the tree did crack a big truss in the roof attic which will need repair. Thankfully, the rain has let up a little since. Thanks for asking. (Santa Cruz County, Northern CA).

A few years back we had a huge hickory fall on our roof. We had no electricity for nearly a week. That is hard to deal with when we depend on these resources so much. Glad no one was hurt Sunny.  :grouphug;

We had the tree guys out yesterday and 3 of our trees are too damaged (lost too much of their bark) and need to come down.   :'(
