Hello my name is Amanda, my husband is Robert he has been on dialysis for 3 yrs previous to this he had a transplant for 14yrs and dilaysis for 8 mos previous to that. Hopefully I will be giving him a kidney we have to retest since we moved but a cpl of yrs ago we tested at UCSF and we were a really good match, but we really aren't in a hurry. We have an 8 yr old son who's really great with this and we try to keep him filled in but he's used to it since Rob's always been sick in one way or another since he was born. Anyways that's us we just try to take things one day at a time and are greatful that things could be worse.

Welcome to our community! Also, I wish you an absolutely tremendous New Year! You are doing it right. One of the most right things you can do is check out IHD. this is going to be of real help to you as you and your husband continue to deal with this renal challenge. there is so much here. I saw that you have already checked out the chat. that is really good. this site has become a real family as we support each other. so welcome to the family! Bajanne, Moderator

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.
