Hello. I found the IHD web site right before Thanksgiving when I Googled "7 up Jello-O salad". I was looking for a specific recipe that a friend of mine used to make. I told my husband Kevin (Katonsdad) about this site because he was on dialysis for over 3 years before having a kidney and pancreas transplant in August 1999. He really enjoys talking with all of you. I thought it was about time for me to introduce myself. Kevin started dialysis a few months after we met, so if there are any other spouses out there who need to talk, I am here for you. I chose the Yoda icon because Kevin (aka Katonsdad) is the Stormtrooper icon. He's not a Star Wars fan like our son and me, but right after his transplant, he had a dream that he was a Jedi. By the way, I made the 7 up salad with strawberry Jell-o. It was really yummy! Thank you to the person who posted the recipe. If it wasn't for you, I would have never found this wonderful web site. kevinswife

Welcome kevinswife,
It's great when the spouse shares membership here on IHD, it really shows the level of support. A testimony of your commitment. You have a wonderful family and I hope that IHD gives your family the tools needed to endure the set backs of ESRD.
It's my pleasure to get to know you and I hope you find many new friendships here at IHD.

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.

Glad you found us! (I want the recipe.)
Hi everyone. Thank you for welcoming me to the group. The 7up Jell-o recipe that I made was posted by "thegrammalady". Here it is: 2 small or 1 large package lime Jell-o (I substituted with strawberry Jell-o) 2 cups Apple Sauce 12 oz. 7 up or Sprite Place apple sauce in sauce pan w/Jell-o. Heat until Jell-o is dissolved. Take off heat. Slowly add 7 up (careful, it fizzes a lot). Refrigerate until set. (Makes a pretty molded salad). My friend E-mailed me her recipe after I had already made thegrannalady's recipe. Here is my friend's recipe which it very yummy also: 1 large package strawberry or cherry Jell-o 1 small package lemon Jell-o 1 jar Apple Sauce 1 medium can of curshed pineapple (do not drain) 6 oz. of 7 up In a medium sauce pan, heat applesauce to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in packages of Jell-o until dissolved. Mix in crushed pineapple. Slowly pour in 7 up. Mix well and pour into medium glass backing dish and chill over night or for several hours. Enjoy! Kevinswife

Welcome. It take patience to be the wife to someone on dialysis, or with a transplant.
