I have known Stash and his mom for the last couple of years. They have been wonderful cheerleaders for us as we faced Jenna's dialysis and transplant. Stash has been fighting this cancer and had good results, but the tumor is back. He is 12 1/2 years old. Please pray for Stash, visit his site: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/stashphillips and send a card if you can. Thanks.

From his caringbridge site: STASH BRITTEN PHILLIPS WAS DIAGONOISED WITH MEDULLABLASTOMA (PNET) A HIGHLY AGGRESSIVE, GROWING BRAIN TUMOR, JUST 1O DAYS AFTER HIS 11TH BIRTHDAY ON MARCH 24, 2006. AFTER 9 MONTHS CANCER FREE---STASH RELASPED WITH GLIOBLASTOMA A VERY HIGHLY AGGRESIVE CANCER.... WE ARE CURRENTLY ON TEMOZOLOMIDE AN ORAL CHEMO.... THE DOCTORS ARE NEGATIVE ABOUT THE OUTCOME...BUT WE KNOW WITH THE GOOD LORD AND ALL OUR AWESOME PRAYER TEAM ....WE ARE GOING TO BEAT THIS BEAST ONCE AGAIN AND KICK THE "CAN" OUT OF CANCER.

PLEASE SEND ALL HAPPY MAIL TO:

STASH PHILLIPS

I originally posted the wrong link, maybe that was the problem. Try clicking on it now - I hope it works. Thanks glitter.

Please take a minute and send Stash and his mom a note in their guestbook - he's not doing well and is struggling now. Here's a recent journal entry from his mom:

YES MY HEART STILL HURTS FOR MY LIL MAN, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE SINCE READING ALL THESE GUESTBOOK ENTRIES I FEEL STRONGER... YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST, STASH LOVES READING EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THE POSTS AND HE JUST SMILES THAT AWESOME SMILE.... THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING SUPERMAN SMILE. I TELL YA I LOVE IT WHEN HE SMILES, IT MAKES ME SMILE.

Thank you Karol.

It's bad enough that we are sick but when it's a kid, it's a heartbreaker.

i have been reading his journal every day- of all the links that have been posted this fellow has my heart....he is an amazing kid full of smiles, and his mother is just awesome as well....they do like to get  people from all over to sign their guestbook, they have a buddy map as well so they can see where people are from..

Karol I do appreciate you posting these ....\

when you start reading the journals of these kids who are going through so much- you will find links to other families too, I try to spend an hour a day posting good wishes just so they have alot of messages, so maybe for 1 second they don't feel so alone.  and alot of them do die, and then the moms and dads need a kind word too. It reminds me of Sara, Joe's wife, after he died she said how after a couple of weeks people stopped checking on her...they get on with their lives, and while that is necessary and true, they still need people to lift them up. I am not religious, and I do not think you HAVE to be- to be kind and let someone know you are at least- just listening. ( Be warned- it might break your heart a bit- but when you compare your minor pain to their  pain- you know its worth a minute of your time.)
