O0 well my name is misschell, i have done just about everything kidney related as far as treatment.  i was diagnosed with FSGS in 1991 at the ripe age of 13.  8 years later my kidneys failed.  Just so u know the signs of kidney failure are not really that different from pregnancy. Yep i was pregnant when my kidneys stopped, unfortunately the baby did not survive. his name was matthew.  thus the dialysis roller coaster began. i got a graft(booooo) 3/99 by the time the new year rolled around the graft had clotted 11 times and i missed my bro's graduation from texas tech.  on to PD maybe that will work better for me and it did, except giving myself EPO shot was out of the question. my mom had to do it.  then on the 3rd transplant call i got it.......i think they were really trying to kill me.  i wasn't told that the kidney really wasn't a good match and the treatment for rejection(OKT-3) killed 2 of the 3 people the did the trial on in dalllas.  life was pretty bad, but i got to know a lot of people at BUMC.  that was 2001...i don't like remembering that year.  so within 8 months i go from YEA! transplant to PLEASE! put me back on dialysis.  back on hemo: i have a fistula placed in my arm.  well the nurse talked me into using it too early and my entire arm was swollen and bruised badly....know why she said 'oh that's supposed to happen'. my surgeon didn't agree and i was moved to a different center. life got better until I GOT PREGNANT...why o why!? i started going to dialysis 6 DAYS A WEEK! with the increased blood in my body the cancerous tumor in my native kidney began to get bigger.  pre-term labor is not fun....in had the baby the day i hit 5 months.  he passed away: his name was julian.  2 months later i had my native kidney removed. my dialysis went down hill so i hightailed it elsewhere....moving form fresenius to davita was a good move....! so good in fact that now i am PREGNANT AGAIN! they told me my cycles would stop...LIARS! it is 2007 and i'm pregnant with my third boy.....my name is misschell, nice to meet you all! :2thumbsup;

Hey 2001 was bad here too - Jenna was diagnosed with kidney failure that year. Then there was 9-11 - definitely a tough year!
