Well, my lovely little boy pooch I'm about to take back to the rescue center today!
We drive 850 miles to my parent's house. The first thing he does when he gets into their living room? Lifts his little bony leg on their recliner! WT---? Then as I was talking to my husband on the phone this morning, he lifts his leg on my tennis shoes -- no I was not wearing them, thankfully! He doesn't do this at home? What on earth is wrong with him?
(Kidding about taking him back of course. That would never happen.)

He is in a different house/envirnment. Accidents can happen because he could be scared or just confused where he is and whats going on.

My dog loves everyone, and if you show him the least bit of positive attention, he will never forget it. I never realized how true that was until about five days ago, though. My husband's grandfather passed away, and the funeral was in another state, so we had to take our dog to the vet to board him. They absolutely love him there, and said that if they had to fold another dog in half, they'd find room for him.
So anyway, we pulled into the parking lot of the vet's office, and does the dog lie down and cry? No. Does he cower and refuse to get out of the car? Nope. Does he pull back on his leash so we can't get him in the building's door? Not a chance! His tail starts wagging, his eyes light up, and he's trying to get out of the car before we can get the leash on him! And his bed and food bin were sitting next to him on the car seat, so he had to know that it was an "extended stay".
He's currently curled up asleep at my feet, just as things should be.

My dog decided to steal the beef jerky package tonight and take it over by her bed. Hubby found it and handed it to me. it still has jerky in it. She could not get it open to eat all of it. It is now up high on my dresser. I guess she wanted a snack tonight.

I read where Apple Cider Vinager on a cotton ball taped to a wart will make them dissappear. I tired it last night and when I woke up at 1:50am the dog was gone. She was sniffing before bed like "what the hell stinks?"

Sad Sack, our old bassett hound, is over in the corner snoring - we are having tornado weather - there was a time she would be in our faces- nervous and panting and now she can't hear the thunder-- I used to get so tired of her during this kind of weather ----- now it is sad--
She tried to behead a snake the other day and we had to pull her away - the snake was about to get the best of her--- but in her day - that snake would have been dead------- Sad Sack still thinks she is a young pup----

My two are snuggled up together on the recliner (which used to be mine!) much like in the photo except they are both asleep. Bonnie is 10 and she, too, does not hear or see as well as she used to. Alot gets by her these days. Gracie is starting to fill in as the emergency back up dog and will bark at almost any sound.
Now, where in Texas do you live, Twirl? I wish we'd get rain or even storms up here in Dallas. It's way too dry and was 107 degrees today!

Twirl, I love your stories about Sad Sack for two reasons: 1) My ex-husband and I had two bassetts, and they're fantastic dogs. I miss them so much! I got the cats, he got the dogs. 2) My current husband has a cousin whose emails always show up as being from Sad Sack - his nick name for himself, I suppose! Anyway, thanks for the stories, they make me smile, though it's a bit bittersweet.

I am finally back with my babies! I missed them sooo much. I bought a little sombrero in Mexico for one of my dogs -- we call him Senor Schnappo. (Not really sure why.) I'm going to take pics and if I can figure out how to upload a pic here when I get home, you can see him with his new hat.

Twirl,
I better not. My dad sleeps in his boxers! I think he would be a tad embarrassed.
Also, the shark left my house today.
It is headed your way. Let me know when it arrives.
Good luck.
I think another shark is due to leave Santa Fe for Conroe tomorrow. ; )
