Ok, not really about recipes, but I had to share!!

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have never a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

That is funny!  When someone would ask my grandfather to say grace, he would reply "grace in the kitchen, grace in the hall, for gosh sakes Grace, don't eat it all!"   Needless, to say, we didn't ask him often!!

...and may you have been enjoying a good transplant for at least six months by Thanksgiving time next year.

Happy Thanksgiving Katie!

A woman invited some people to Thanksgiving dinner. At the table, she turned to her
six-year-old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?"
I wouldn't know what to say," the little girl replied.
"Just say what you hear Mommy say," the mother said.
The little girl bowed her head and said, "Dear Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"

When my Mother passed last year, a hospital chaplain led us in prayer at the hospital and then asked if I wanted to say one. I don't know why but, the only prayer I could remember at that moment was the one my Mother taught my brothers and I. It was the same one she had us each take a turn saying every night at the supper table. With the holidays upon us, I figure it still applies.

"God is great, God is good, let us thank Him for our food! Amen!!"
